  1. yep that's my thinking as well....knowing his galaxy brain self lol that he decided to take control of the narrative. Even if the 4A is not yet ready, it's a talking point. Like if he lands it, that is the highlight of the damn event more than anything else really. And it's funny because now ppl are saying if he ditches the 4A and replaces it with another jump ....he could very well do a three peat if he's clean. Genius really. I also think the judges do pay attention to nationals, but I know they looked at Jnats and saw someone who did not look like he was in decline. They saw someone who looked extremely sharp.
  2. ngl I need to stop hate watching I'm giving them too many clicks, but it is funny how inconsistent they are on opinions about everything from one comp to the next. they'll say Nathan has it locked up again after us nats.
  3. funny thing is ever since he started doing the 4A attempts it's interesting to hear that now ppl are considering that he's in it lmaoooo. Ppl were ready for 3 years to crown Nathan with a gold and yet it took only a couple of videos for that to change to " well maybe it's not so locked up"....very "interesting" lol hmmm
  4. lol TSL saying he's right there for a 3rd ogm if he switched that 4A with a 4L
  5. I will say that recent chatter does have people entertaining the idea that the 4A could put Yuzu on top but only if he lands it? and also thinking that Yuzu might be crazy because it opens the door more for Nathan if he doesn't land it (but like it was open beforehand either tbh)....I don't see Nathan doing the 6 quad layout...probably might not be a good idea. I think he may be struggling more than we think if he's trying to go back to old programs. Trying to find something that sticks. I honestly think something more than just struggling tho bc SA was the first comp of the season and he seemed nervous then.......oh snap I forgot it may have something to do with that hip injury that we didn't really hear much of.....
  6. I was thinking the same and actually looking at some senior B's left. There's still the Golden Spin....and that's all that's left besides the smaller senior B's like the Santa Claus Cup, Open d'Andorra and uh yeah that's it...
  7. tbh I vastly prefer the piano, I always thought that piece of music was sort of....grating....*dodges tomatoes* It's not quite a warhorse but it is familiar and a lot of skaters have skated to it over the years. At least the piano version has a fresh take to it. It'll still be a gazillion times better than the stuff we've seen from everybody else this year. The bar set for Olympic programs this year is in hell lmao. I can't believe some of the stuff people decided to use this year. I hope the judges go with Yuzu (yeah yeah pipe dream yeah yeah gold has been already given blah blah but the rest of the men's programs this year are garbage) if he goes clean. edit: not grating but idk I used to lose interest when I'd hear it
  8. oh lord....well maybe uh....idk...it could turnout well....i hope..

  10. LOOOOOOL NOT THAT OH GOD NO. I was hoping for the tall hat (I forgot the name of it I'm so sorry!). Kanmuri? I think the Eboshi was for priests?? (I'm a bit of a novice on Japanese History i'm very sorry )
  11. Also I know this is wishful thinking but is it possible he will take part in any promotional events/activities/etc for Tokyo 2020? Do you think they'd let him take part in something for the upcoming summer olympics? I'm just curious.
  12. please please please please please please please.....*please into infinity*
  13. lol about to go run some errands and then nap before "doomsday" but i guess some last words: He seems to be full of joy the last couple of days and it's inspiring to see. Of course no matter what happens, we will be there cheering him on. I want to see him happy as well. I"m the most negative person alive, but lately besides the usual nervousness of competition(starting to think it's excitement of seeing him back), every time i see a video or pic of him practicing or just walking around doing whatever at the site, there's a vague calmness. I don't know what that means. I'm usually better at predicting when bad things will happen rather than the opposite. But I weirdly, I believe in him. He's gotten this far considering the mess this season. lolol i don't even know where i'm going with this but tl;dr I cannot shake off this feeling and it will not go away even if i start thinking about negative situations. I'm not sure if this will mean anything by the end of this competition, but for now I'm just going to ride on the wave with him. blah blah If he's ready, I'm ready! blah blah
  14. crossposted in the fluff & in between post because i have no idea where this belongs lol
  15. Nayana is a legendary song PICK ME PICK MEEE I think they actually played it at some of the medal ceremonies loooooooool (always did prefer Nayana to the first season song. P101 s1 song was atrocious)
  16. They may not watch the press conferences, but they do watch practices though, allegedly (i keep hearing this is a thing). But I think that's for Ice Dance, to prepare for the final ranking since ID judging is somewhat ~pre-determined~.
  17. Lol i forgot that the rest of the fans/media are already there probably waiting to pounce.
  18. hopefully it won't be pandemonium when he gets to the actual site either
  19. Tbh I always thought the TE was a waste of energy and I'm still upset the ISU won't move that stupid event until after the individual events. It's kind of dumb imo. I don't really understand the need for it. We have WTT anyway. And to think all that drama about him repeating his programs....they might serve him well this time. (how many days are between the TE and the men's event???)
  20. I still don't know what happened after 2013.... I assumed that okay well maybe it's just puberty issues but then came weird rumors about some conflicts between her and the Chinese Fed. Ugh what could've been
  21. i take back that part where i said there was a 50% chance of them fucking this up bc they are so ~renowned~ they only care if there's a chance for an American gold medal. Yay a great rival has season ending injury!!1!! More medals for USA!!! USA! USA! The joke will probably be on us, we haven't earned good a lot of goodwill for these upcoming games as of late. #MAGA - the 2018 Olympics version - Special FS edition or #MASA - Make America Skate Again (which we haven't since the 1990s)
  22. Polina is supposedly coming back this season while going to school full time.........this should work out well.....or not....

That era (Impressionist?) is probably my favorite in terms of classical music. Lol that's probably why I'm biased for the French composers a bit. I also thought about Ravel's La Mer: It's dramatic all right for an Olympic program. Heck he could even reuse his Requiem Ex costume if needed for it! omg i'm an idiot i typed that up before i saw your link! Yep honestly with your edit this really convinces me that this could make an incredible program. Not all programs have to be warhorses for the olympics as Yuna's Gershwin program,Concerto in F and Mao's Bells of Moscow weren't really commonly heard pieces tbh. (thank god Yuna didn't go for Rhapsody in Blue :silent: )
