when that happens in our court system, the time someone was held in jail awaiting trial is counted as part of their overall sentence if found guilty. but the point of holding them in the first place is so they can't avoid the trial by leaving town or whatever. SK doesn't seem to think that's an issue. Also, I read that part of the reason they haven't detained him is because he's already admitted that he's guilty. I have no idea how that works, in my world someone who has freely admitted to committing sex assault is a danger to the community but who knows
