  1. The fact that these judges can’t see beyond the status quo and appreciate skating for what it is without biases... I’ll stop there , trying not to ruin the amazing past 3 days of watering the 🌵
  2. i wrote this in the FaOI thread, but wanted to throw it out here. i do find it suspicious that Jeffrey Buttle choreographed it, has tinges of LGC like the final spin ending and had 3 jump possibilities ( 3A, there was a possible lutz setup at 2:15, then single axel position) and I was really hoping he would do 2 Japanese programs this year. reading everyone else’s thread, here is why he may not turn it into a competition sp. 1. Yuzu didn’t show his programs in ice shows last year 2. The total length is 3:35, so closer to a free skate. It’d be hard to cut a whole minute as a side note: I love and much prefer masquerade over Crystal . Maybe it’s just so new, but for today, may be my all time favorite.
  3. Speak the truth!!! Fanyus are so dedicated, I’m sure these look a lot of time.
  4. Putting it all together, Yuzu had an amazing post Olympic season. Can’t wait til FaOI!
  5. I just remember he was exhausted after the FS and seemed like he started picking up gifts after looking around and not seeing them picked up quickly enough. Also, people were throwing full sizes poohs and bouquets of flowers and I think I saw larger gift bags? Maybe the organizers just didn’t expect so many gifts on the ice.
  6. Yes, don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame the fans. Maybe they thought , I’ll throw my gift, no biggie, but when a lot of people make the same assumption, it is a LOT of Poohs. Lol. It’s Yuzu after all. Hopefully this year, the organizers just get some young volunteers. I would assume, they would love to be around these elite athletes.
  7. I kind of felt bad for Yuzu at ACI. They didn’t seem to plan for young skaters to pick up the poohs so he had to do it-because that’s just the kind of person he is. I hope people follow the rules or have kiddie skaters so Yuzu can bow and enjoy.
  8. You’ve peaked my interest, not a favorite program, but favored costume? In reverse I would have said LGC
  9. 8:11 side by side Ina Bauer. I think FaOI Sendai will be very special.
  10. But then I think Yuzu realized the judges didn’t understand the bullets and put the back counter back in. I personally miss the twizzle twizzle-unique to Yuzu
  11. Since Olympic channel is doing flash back Friday... (I think original credit is in the comment) arrows to see the clear files 🌵🌵🌵
  12. Yuzu really is an anime character embodied and not exaggerated.
  13. Is Yuzu trying to find his fellow aliens or trying to recruit them?
  14. my crazy brain fully expected the Seimei song to start after the ticket popped up HAPPY BIRTHDAY PLANET HANYU!! Thanks to all the admins and support system provided my members!
  15. Yuzu news!! Can’t understand a word but can’t stop watching......
  16. There should be a warning sign associated with Yuzu videos. Admit it. We all just wanted to watch a video then fell into the rabbit hole and watched for hours and hours and hours...
  17. This has been my go to for full videos of competitions. Thanks to @dasani (hope OK to share) I really enjoy watching Yuzu (as we all do 😉) but there is another level of appreciation when you see his artistry and quality of his jumps/spins compared to other skaters. https://www.evernote.com/client/snv?noteGuid=bd346309-e3c5-499f-a471-c910445fd426&noteKey=128fcea0b4ef7ad08f83bdd72874ce1c&sn=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.evernote.com%2Fshard%2Fs671%2Fsh%2Fbd346309-e3c5-499f-a471-c910445fd426%2F128fcea0b4ef7ad08f83bdd72874ce1c&title=dasani%2Bshared%2Bvideos
  18. I wonder if being a “Fanyu” is a job requirement for the social networking managers of all these sites ( eg EDEA, Olympic channel, etc)
  19. Even John Wilson blades is feeling the drought...
  20. 1. In short, yes, to some degree. Technology aids the evolution of human sciences to achieve more in most sports, not just figure skating. Quads are a good example of this- now compared to a decade ago. 2. IMO- GOAT represents 2 main concepts. 1st advancing the sport with new techniques and feats and 2nd achieving feats that others have not. In that sense, GOAT isn’t just a person, it’s the history of that person. It is inevitable, that Yuzu will get beaten, his longevity in this sport up to now has been a bit of a miracle. However, the GOAT title comes with matching or exceeding his lifetime feats and no one currently skating is even close to that (e.g. world record, number for “firsts”, medals galore which includes the 2 OGMs...etc...) As for the quad axel- I don’t believe Yuzu needs it to be the GOAT. I think he’s continuing to do what GOATs do, which is advance the sport to new horizons.
  21. I’m not sure Waseda would have to do anything but offer flexibility in when he can takes classes. 6-8 years would imply he can go part time. As he has so many engagements and obligations maybe they’ll give him an extra year or 2?
  22. As of last month, still a student and Waseda obviously proud about it. https://www.waseda.jp/top/en-news/63995
  23. Ok. Just watched it again. I’m convinced... a classical short...a Japanese FS...quad axel...perfect 19-20 season!!!!
  24. So on the topic of why everyone loves Yuzu. I happened on this vid of Yuzu when he arrived back to Japan. He’s only 19....but he takes the time to pose for pictures, shake hands and bow as much as he can, handling the attention from media and fans with poise.
