Sports includes competition where there are winners and losers. If the standards by which you win or lose can be arbitrary then the expectation that " if you work hard you could win" is dissolved. Unlike soccer or any other team sport, you score a point and you get a point. FS tried this, but with the subjectiveness of GOEs and PCS, it's turning out to be a popularity contest amongst the judges based on nationality and biases. I know to some degree this always existed, but I actually watched Yuzu because I enjoyed his skating and the wins were a huge bonus and it fit with the rules. But now......I don't know which rules are leading to those inflated GOEs and PCS scores so the competition aspect is dissolving.

Agreed, GOAT!! I'm a little bummed about what’s going on with the crazy PCS inflation for US skaters. It’s leaving an “icky” feeling I can’t shake. It’s hard to see FS as a sport when there are no standards for judging. I think I’ll just wait for Yuzu to skate again in shows and then next season, otherwise I’m losing all interest in non-Yuzu competitions and FS in general.

I hate ISU. I support you Yuzu, so take care of yourself. Don’t let their agenda rule you.

Sometimes I don’t know how these videos fall into my YouTube preferences, but I this. I don’t understand a word of what he is saying but what I do see is his excitement of being at the Olympics. I see his excitement when watching his idol succeed. And I watch his excitement of being able to win. I see a person wanting to achieve his goals while wishing the best for others. So many emotions.

Ok , here’s some highlights, from my limited Korean. During performance just mentioning what jumps he’s doing. After the performance -from the heavens, the Winnie the Pooh’s are pouring down -talking about Plu being his idol and tribute -yuzu is popular - (performance)is incredible -2 time gold medalist During slo-mo -describing which jumps -his jumps are best with good GOEs, then explaining scoring system and negative points when someone falls -rare? And amazing ina bauer -he is the best men’s single figure skater of course, I agree with that last statement

I understand what you’re saying, but I think about his idols Plu and Weir. Weir never had great medal successes, but influenced Yuzu with his transitions and matching jumps to his music. Plu influences him with his domination and flare. Yuzu was able to meld the two together. I think whoever emulates Yuzu with natural talent and technique will be amazing. Whether they will have his persona and personality, not sure if that will happen anytime in the near future. Yuzu is a unicorn and will be referenced long after his career is over. I think he should just do Yuzu from now til whenever he wants to stop competing.

No, because that’s what makes him special. History will determine his greatness. He shouldn’t go down to the level of others to appease political judges.

I'm still hopeful, he'll do some shows in 2 months, Continues style if need be. Also lots and lots of banquet photos (sorry- some already posted), I wonder if Yuzu even had time to eat!!

It'll be 2 months almost exactly to the first FaOI and then use it as rehab, easing into jumps? I think it’s still possible. I just can’t imagine anyone else headlining FaOI. Like others have said he could also do it Continues with Wings style.

IMO- this argument about what worlds should have been is a non-starter and just gives the antis more ammunition against Yuzu and Fanyus. I heard a similar argument in the opposite direction after the Olympics, the “what-ifs” if Nathan would have been clean in the short and thousands of then “yuzu would have added the loop”. There was “buts he’s injured so the loop was shaky”. “Too high GOEs” “too high PCS.” Etc etc etc ”what-ifs” should be avoided at all costs because it sounds petty. If you start to criticize Nathan’s win then you open up the criticism for Yuzu’s win, Just like Yuzu won his 2nd OGM, Nathan won worlds. Nothing that is said about the scoring will change that fact. Yuzu knows that, which his why I think he never blames the score or judges. I agree that a PERFECTLY CLEAN Yuzu had the potential to win over Nathan’s performed layout, BUT Nathan can still up his BV and Yuzu knows this. No one knows the results of “what-ifs”. If Yuzu performed a clean short, Nathan may have added a 5th quad- what if he missed that or has a clean fifth quad....etc etc etc- rabbit hole. i know many Fanyus are still upset and sad (I’m slowly recovering as well 🤕), but I’m thinking how Yuzu has responded to this. Yuzu , as always, is showing a bit of humility, humbleness , appreciation of his competitors and self-reflection of how to make himself better, AND look to the future. He is wise beyond his years. I think we should all consider taking his lead. Again IMO.

He really is the KING
