  1. You will!.....can I hide behind your back and be the hype man going "yeah!" ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. I usually get flustered and come off as an idiot. ๐Ÿ˜‚. I always seem to find the worst gate keepers.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I tend to do my best to stay quiet or deflect. Some I've encountered only get really nasty if I say Yuzuru's name, so I just try not to go there. The fight isnt worth it. I just want to enjoy what I like w/o being shamed.
  3. Not necessarily a bad thing. You're passionate and got yourself covered ๐Ÿ˜‚
  4. I'm going to commit some of those to memory! I usually just go white noise blank and look stupid while they either get meaner, or smug.
  5. My vote goes to ignoring. Given how crass certain commentators can be, they only ramp up and get worse the closer we get. I'm going on a skating fast until Yuzuru reappears somewhere. I hate Olympic season for this reason. Media is insufferable...
  6. Even outside of competitions. If you say you like Figure Skating and follow up with Yuzuru as your favorite skater...be prepared for blow back, gate keeping, and elitism. "You're not a REAL fan." Level sniping. Or newest gem: Yuzuru is more of an idol than a skater
  7. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ works for me
  8. I recall an image of him watching Shoma get scored, and he even muttered something about it being low and just (frustrated) disbelief.
  9. So. Factual sources are hard for me to dredge up. But here is a link on some things/reasons-take with a grain of salt. These are things I have heard and seen spread around. Sources are another matter...but then again, who ever goes on record to say? Some is observation of differing treatment and draw conclusions as we do with the ISU. https://www.reddit.com/r/FigureSkating/comments/kl7kjg/question_about_biased_judging/?utm_source=amp&utm_medium=&utm_content=post_body
  10. Lol, I'm sorry! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…. Total miss there...I know Dick Button called them out once...and well...look what happened after...honestly, more coaches amd retired skaters have to be the ones. The current athletes have too much to lose-in any country. ISU has proven they dont care about anything beyond money and shading dealings.
  11. How though? Idk...I kinda feel like the only way for skating as a sport to get better, is for it first to be razed now. It's a jump fest, dont bother with artistry...to regain a balance, everything has to go and do a complete rework from the ground up.
  12. He and Tara are a literal mean girl clique. They love to trash, and snipe more than report imo. I would love Dick Button back or literally ANYONE else.
  13. Lol! You may not be far off. Nathan a while back made a comment on his college career vs skating and finding time. He may end up retiring to explore other things, and that is totally fine by me. I would love to see Yuzuru remain. The ISU and those who look down on Yuzuru can choke in their own hate ๐Ÿ˜‚
  14. I copied it there, what should I do about the one here? Just delete?
  15. A skater tested positive for Covid. The name isnt released on who, but it ISNT Yuzuru. But oh Lord give us strength and keep everyone healthy. Skater who tested positive naturally cant participate...but who have they been in contact with? This is so scary. We're barely a day into this. I dont like the tone this is setting ๐Ÿ˜จ.
  16. I"m going to remove it. I found the source finally. Got the link from my friend and had to school her on the difference between Shoma and Yuzuru ๐Ÿ˜‚. She's nice, but not into skating, so she saw a bit about Japanese skaters arriving in Sweden and thought it was him with them. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  17. Edit: Not him. Source was incorrect, but some Japanese skaters have begun arriving. Really hoping this goes by fast and everyone remains healthy and safe๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ™
  18. Possibly, and if so there is nothing wrong with that. Life is short, so I'm all for someone doing what they love.
  19. Ya know...I agree with this to an extent. Full disclosure, I LIKE Nathan Chen. But when Yuzuru retires Nathan does not and will not have the same draw. Yuzuru is full package. Nathan is not. Maybe someday he will get better with artistry (Nathan), but he isnt there now and he doesnt have the same pull for me that Yuzuru does. Artistry is hard. Some have an ear for music and incorporating it, others have to learn it. The fact Yuzuru makes it seem so easy is a testament to it's difficulty. I think for some it's an innate gift. So when Yuzuru retires....it really is going to be so difficult. They can media play all they want, they cannot replace or artificially create and pull in the crowds Yuzuru has. Now, none of this is a bash against Nathan, I do enjoy watching him skate, but it isnt the same.
  20. ๐Ÿ˜‚. I'll have to re-smell mine, now to see ๐Ÿ˜‚
  21. If I am thinking of the same instance they are, he did, but I took it to be more a complaint on how judging was changing in general. A lot of skaters were grousing at the changes to point systems though. Heck. Judges still dont even seem to get their own scoring system it seems.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ข I happen to like Nathan as a technical skater. Yuzuru is the GOAT for a reason, Nathan has been gracious and openly stated Yuzuru is more rounded than him as he has admitted there are jumps he doesnt like as much that Yuzuru takes on. Perception I guess, I never took his words as being complaints only towards himself vs just in general how bad the scoring changes were.
  22. You may be right, but I want to be optimistic and think otherwise-I may be fooling myself, in fact I probably am, but I know Yuzuru is the total package. Even NC has seemed to concede that. All we can do is wait, watch, and brace.
  23. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Color me impressed. You do you then. I'm the quiet type, so it's just our differences at play.
  24. You expect them to call out judges? No one likes rocking a boat. Meh. This is a meaningless issue. Yuzuru will kick butt as he always does. Scoring and judges go low, he goes high. Edit: shower epiphany's of a small degree ๐Ÿ˜‚. The skaters-and there have been some, that speak out are usually a foot out the door or retired. Javi, as an example, seemed to get a lot more bold when he made up his mind he was retiring. Dick Button doesnt hold back. Politics always play a role, in everything, but usually (granted not all the time) it isnt the athletes who have real sway. They're cogs. It's the coaches, the federations, judges, marketers, ect that have real power and whose voices matter more. Most athletes I have read about often will not and do not speak out due to retribution and fears they will be seen as hard to work with/manage/ect. Granted, does this excuse everything? No, I'd agree with that to a point, but I think it unfair to throw it at the feet of young teens and 20ish yr olds. Edit/Edit** Omg ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I'm not trying to.come off as agressive or snippy, because I realize I quoted you so it may seem that way. Apologies in advance if it came that way. I just honestly mused on some other points and wanted to get them out before I lost it.
