You and me both. Dont worry, you're fine with your post. My advice is take a break from Social media. Put blinders on. Watch your favorite performances of Yuzuru. Stay around positivity (mostly here lol). There will always be some negativity. The trick is to find your own tools to drown it out and help you calm down/feel relaxed. This too shall pass.

Oh the gate keeping and insulting of GS...dont miss it ๐

so, I guess Peacock premium will show WTT...not sure I'll watch. If JW is the commentator...I'll pass and wait for things to appear on Youtube

A lot of things and frankly, I dont care to unpack it all. Short end is: he is a bitter, racist, pos. He is aware he is irrelevant and therefore does every dirty trick and victim tactic to try and stay semi-relevant. Even if it means stabbing his own fans in the back along the way. Loves to be a bully, but cant take what he dishes out. He cries wolf a lot to deflect and has a nice legion of equally blind and micro-aggressive supporters in his field to act as his echo chamber. ....apparently I can unpack a bit ๐
-
He did mention it, I took it to mean it wasn't consistent or stable enough yet. Close enough he felt he could risk it, but in the end maybe more of a gamble than he wanted to take...but it does sound like it's looming closer.

The way I see it, this is because sportsman-like conduct doesnt give ratings. They sold their standards and got most of their viewers to lower their standards that now, if they raised the bar back, people would probably tune out or be bored. Those that want higher standards dont count, because they/we already seek out other streams and ways to view. Additionally, and talking more about US here since I'm from there, they really love to push this us vs them narrative. No matter how damaging and damning it can be for those involved. It's why they hype up this NC vs YH rivalry that doesnt exist in the context they claim. Both skaters are respectful, but they love to ignore that fact and take no cues on how to handle discussions.

Unfortunately, it sounds like those selected need to attend unless injured-otherwise they risk sanctions. That was my understanding of reading some of the rules. They were posted by someone here earlier, but here is #6. Im not sure how to quote multiple times well yet on a phone, but I"ll try to find the OP for due credit. (@sallycinnamon) 6. Priority Participation ISU Members with Skaters who place within the first ten places at any ISU Championships and who continue in the following season to participate in Skating competitions and/or exhibitions as eligible Skaters, shall have the obligation, when entering or authorizing the participation of such Skaters in Skating competitions and/or exhibitions, to give first priority to participation of such Skaters in those ISU Events which are the subject of ISU television and commercial contracts as notified to ISU Members. ISU Members who fail to comply with the above obligation, and Skaters who refuse to participate in such ISU Events, without medical or other justified reasons, shall be subject to sanctions under the relevant Rules.

Oh for sure. Even if/when he stops being competitive, I can easily envision him doing shows. Whatever he does, as you mention, we"ll support him. I just want him healthy so he can do all the things he wants.

It's like the raging pandemic doesnt exist. I'm in shock right now.
-
This whole thing has been a roller coaster. I cant quite wrap my head around how far this has fallen.
-
.....I'm gonna say it. I'm not afraid of the day Yuzuru r*****s, because then I'll at least be done with the ISU
-
Seriously? Now thr WTT is forging ahead? Lord give me strength!

Totally random, but I found the Heaven and Earth movie on dvd ๐. I'm excited ๐

Truer words, and they do exist everywhere, in every fandom. Golf (ew for me), basketball, football, ect, but I cant handle it. I'm not confrontational and I dont like being put on the spot to defend myself. I STILL have to rewatch things to identify jumps, so I try not to even discuss it often ๐. Just in case. You arent rude to walk away from insults and put downs. I think it's strong. I need to do that myself ๐
-
That is just appalling and so contradictory ๐ฎ
-
If it has been, I missed it, so thank you! ๐

I'm salty about it ๐. Ngl. i find that the hardest thing to swallow from it all. The other thing, and I know this is petty of me and I'm working on it...but the way Yuma acted. I couldn't help compare that there was a time Yuzuru celebrated a win and got damned for it, but there Yuma was and no one I saw was calling him a brat, or arrogant...the double standards just irk me.
-
The whole thing was a mess. If they lowered Nathan, that would put him behind Yuma. They"d need to re-evaluate them both, but that would require being consistent in their scoring in the 1st place..ugh. The whole "judging" was a mess. I still assert Yuzuru should have gotten Silver.
-
I do ๐. The day of the FS was a nightmare ๐. I had to mute their texts to me it got that bad. Mind you, these arent the friends I introduced to Yuzuru. These particular friends have been into skating much longer than me. One used to skate even, but yeah...it gets nightmarish at times ๐๐ I avoid asking them figure skate questions.
-
Nathan definitely had inflated scores. I, personally, side eye the scoring Yuma received more. Though asthma and other factors may have played a role in Yuzuru's FS, he did have some issues that led to his FS the way it was...and for judges to get the excuse to sharply underscore him. I understand Nathan getting gold. I wont contest that. I would argue though, that after a fall/stumble/trip, it is difficult for any skater to recover their momentum.
-
๐ omg,yes!
-
I may need to start with a disclaimer than ๐๐
-
He breathes and some people get upset it seems. I think some comes down to jealousy. Certain skaters accomplished little and now are bitter and like to snipe. Some people cant see beyond how he was in his younger years. They see his growth to today, and dismiss it and feel his points are undeserved. I remember there was even a time some felt the scores for him were inflated because judges were clearly showing favoritism to an Olympic champion. Some people just hate his personality and like to call him a brat, show off, or fake. ๐คฆ๐คท But yeah. I dont see it either really. ๐. Haters will find any excuse to justify themselves.
-
Depends. I have terrible luck, but yeah, some people can get very nasty. Fans are fans. Whether you like Nathan, Yuzuru, Shoma, Jason, ect. Some good. Some gatekeeping trolls...it just depends. My experience irl has not been positive. I have not met a fanyu-or even a casual Yuzuru fan in person. Anyone who is, I was the one to show them Yuzuru. Case and point, the FS last Sat. My few irl friends dont like Yuzuru, so it was brutal ๐. You wont know how the reception will be until you start talking though, and others here have had very pleasant experiences.

The narrative will most likely become veiled insults and shots at Yuzuru. "He knew he couldnt win-such a shame, blah, blah, blah" OR They will pretend they always loved him and will miss his skating, before dropping him after 30 secs to go BUT LOOK AT THESE NEW SKATERS.
