    I think the smaller rink meant made for a couple of mistakes, but he swept past them and the emotional punch and sheer brilliance of everything simply overcame any worries. I'm also thinking his connection with the audience, both there and - amazingly - all of us watching from outside - is deepening and he is making it more immediate and personal, the feeling during the encores and talk was palpable.

    The news is just flooding in now... and all of it good stuff. He's had a mixed year, amazing highs and dreadful lows, but he and his fans made it through in glorious style and with love.
