I use my last year's Xylotil clear files for my Japanese class too (don't use CiONTU ones still), also for printed documents during travelling.
I also use the files when travelling; I find the open edges are convenient when I need to find or store papers in a hurry.

How much are tickets normally?? As an passport-less arizonan i never dreamed of getting to go to a FS event and i forgot that 4CC is in Cali!!!! Its destiny
edit: 400 dollars???!!???! Well university’s not THAT important right?
Are you looking at all event ticket prices? Single tickets are $75-85/men’s FS, not including those mysterious “fees” that get tacked on. So a single ticket is maybe $110?

So.....really....what do you all think the chances are that Mr. Hanyu will go to Four Continents? Asking for a friend
-
Anybody else just not seem to be able to get anything done? I have things I need to do (and some of them fun things, like checking on ticket/hotel prices to see if I can go to Four Continents, thinking about upcoming birthdays) and all I do is go home, eat, stare at my iPad for hours and then go to bed too late. I am an obasan, I need to get over this unproductive behavior. LOL

Actually there was a confirmation from Japanese newspapers (that highlighted it in bright, burning red letters LOL) that he said "くそ!" with a fair amount of stressing of the second syllable
I was always told くそ meant "sh*t", but does it mean something else as well?
I think it's funny that if you draw out and emphasize the そ (ku-sooooooooooooooooooooo), then it reminds me of when people draw out "shi*t" and it sounds like "sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttt") .
I will stop now.

I think that mob mentality is certainly extremely mind-altering...it makes everyone more crazy and competitive for the sake of Fear Of Missing Out.

.the younger chinese fans are terrified of the older japanese fans. Last year at ACI, ran into a couple who said they'd never fight with an older japanese lady, because there is no way to win. A lot of them opted to stay overnight outside as a measure of potentially winning some seats against the older japanese fans.
I find this interesting...what makes the Japanese aunties so terrifying to the (presumably) younger, taller, stronger, faster Chinese fans?
Are they the legendary and much feared "obatarian"? (A blend of the Japanese word for "aunt" [oba] and "battalion" ). These are the ladies who will elbow you to get to a seat on the subway. They will push forward to get the lucky rice cakes thrown out at festivals. They look sweet but when they decide to do something, you Get.Out.Of.Their. Way.
(Excuse me if this word has been explained before. I just find it so funny. It may be out of fashion these days.)

Are they (the mob) Japanese?
All the Japanese I encounter in my life were very polite and respectful. So I somehow find it peculiar if they are being rude like that.
I think that with any people, you have those individuals who GO HARD with their interests and just lose their minds. I don’t know how it is now, but having a hobby used to be a big deal in Japan, almost like a requirement it seemed. So FS is probably some people’s hobby and maybe they lose their minds (and manners) when they finally see their obsession. Not making any excuses for bad behavior, in fact it’s a little scary when it seems like practical reality takes a back seat to fantasy. He is right to be cautious.
Geeze how how is Yuzu going to live back in Japan. It’s going to take a good many years for the mania to die down. Stay safe amazing/normal
boyyoung man.Oh, and personally I found that Japanese pushing in the train/subway is usually done without any sort of malice, it’s just what you have to do. Now, where I live, if someone gets close or pushes you, prepare to fight!

Undoubtedly his parents and family are proud of him but maybe also a bit fearful for him -they probably watched HIM like a hawk. Those stalker stories are unnerving. No wonder celebrities or sports figures go undercover sometimes.

He said he never use beauty masks....so maybe secret cream by beauty mama?
*Visions of him walking around his flat with a sheet mask on*
I would suspect, though, that staying out of the sun and being in a moist climate has made a HUGE difference in terms of texture and tone. I live in a dry, sunny climate and the damage is undeniable. Folks, wear your sunscreen and MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE. " Hanyu-ize" your skin!!!! You will thank yourself later.

At first I read this thinking, yeah! Finally something definite about his physical condition, then I read it again and it's, "Hanyu says has no special injury problem. Right now, he seems to be injury free, Orser agreed."
I guess he would always say he has no problems physically if he can still jump, he is a tough athlete after all... But I've been worrying on and off that the pinky is some kind of distraction and this didn't help! Comparing pursuit of 4A with that of 4Lz just reminds me to keep praying for him
Also,
What’s this about the police? Was there a fight about who had the biggest Pooh?

I may be skewered for this but I agree with him.

I am a casual fan, but I must say I will feel sort of ....bereft....to see Mr. Hanyu without Javi around. I know Javi is very happy and is doing great things with animal costumes but it just seems like Mr. Hanyu is the last man standing. (Not sure why I feel that way, but it's just a sense.) Ah well, happy autumn everyone!

Re: Nathan I thought Javi meant something like, wow only a crazy person would go for 6 quads (and succeed). He seems quite amused by the comic book idea for Yuzu, as if he had a specific type of character in mind, wish I knew what it was!
Maybe he thinks the life of Mr. Hanyu is as jam-packed and event-filled as any comic strip....we should see little speech balloons filled with "ZAP!" "PAH!" "SHUUU!" "DOKI DOKI!"
Or maybe he just thinks he's funny.

I am an admittedly casual fan, but even so I’m rather embarrassed to say I just watched Javi’s “Guys and Dolls” FS at Worlds 2016...and boy, what an enjoyable program! You can tell it was a technically intricate piece , but it was the charm that really won me over. I can’t think of any other current male skater who has that sort of pizzazz. Maybe Boyang?
(Not including Yuzuru, who has his own particular charisma, although I wouldn’t call it pizzazz.)

Wow that white shirt, maybe from a photoshoot from the latest media day? So where are the photos Japanese media????
Dare I say that this picture makes him look a bit...buff? (I know it's all due to the fabric and cut of the shirt but for those of you who admire a bigger upper body, have a wonderful view!)

I read somewhere that Brian advised him not to make any public social media account, though probably it was Yuzu's intention all along anyway. The advice came from their experience with Yuna, who has a bunch of Korean media as crazy as the Japanese one to deal with. She had a little bit of unfortunate history with her twitter (unintentionally getting into a fan war I think), and all her accounts ended up with only charity & commercial content. Anyway, social media really carries great risks for any celebrity that doesn't feed off the clicks. When you're scrutinized by such wide public, whatever you do at all will get some people's hate. When it's as intimate a medium as social media, it gets personal. It's good for the peace of mind if not the public image, especially for someone with a kind and sensitive heart like Yuzu.
I wonder if his family gave him advice about the dangers of social media.
They seem to prefer to be out of the limelight and, as a friend would say, conduct their lives "in quiet good taste."

I think "OMG" is one of those few English phrases/words Japanese people just pick up through popular culture or from other people. Other English phrases that get thrown out : "This is a pen" and "My car." Even people who otherwise have absolutely no interest or fluency in the English language (ie my relatives) can suddenly bust out with one of those terms (and then look quite pleased with themselves). It's super 可愛い .

There's a quote in one of the articles published right around the time Patrick made his move last year from Zoueva to Walia, where Patrick says there's no ill feelings between him and her, that she told him "'Patrick, whatever makes you happy, I'm happy you've found a place where you could regain that energy,'"
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the quote, but what is she supposed to say after he tells her he's leaving? Good riddance? Beg him to stay?

Stress. Maybe you have to summon a Yuzuru-like attitude before baking for an important occasion:
-Find, hug and talk to a mascot a la Pooh to relieve stress. Or massage your cheeks.
-Wear something glittery.
-Assume a murder face
-Headphones on blast.
-Aim to bake with a "shuuuu" and frost with a "pah!"
-If all fails, shout "Kusooooooooooooooooooooo..."
Happy Baking!
