  1. Japanese nationals is in 10 days you absolute madman, but i like the ambition
  2. This has nothing to do with Yuzu, so i'm sorry but i wanted to ask. If anyone has experience being a volunteer at bigger ISU events and has time to entertain some questions from me, please shoot me a DM. I'm thinking about applying as a volunteer for Worlds 2021 and need some insight. I would mostly want information about the different kinds of positions and jobs there usually are to do at an event so i can specify what areas interest me in the application, as well as information about the amount of time i would have to put aside so i have a realistic picture of the commitment. (Just letting people know that i will probably be slow to reply as i'll be away from home for the next 24 hours, but i promise i'll get back to you eventually if you message me!).
  3. Let's thank this kind soul risking their all to deliver us some fancams c:
  4. *breaks out in hives* I thought i had prepared well mentally, but i'm not prepared... Aahhh
  5. Random question but i just started thinking, when did Yuzuru switch to EDEA Piano's? I'm pretty sure he used Ice Fly's before that? Did he switch as soon as they were released or...? Actually, now that i'm on the topic of boots, is there some kind of known history of the boots + blade combo Yuzu has used throughout his career? I know he uses the Pattern 99 revolution (parabolic? it's what the John Wilson people said on instagram in one of their posts about Yuzu from WC19, but on their website it just says P99 rev. so i'm not sure) blade, but when did he start using them? I'm imagining that there haven't been a lot (or very dramatic, i.e. switching the whole profile of the blade etc) changes at all or often (especially in his senior career, the natural progression of boots and blades as one develops is a factor overall), but i still think it's interesting. If the (however far back) information is available please share! I'm super interested in how he likes to sharpen his blades as well, but i think that's a bit too nerdy and something he probably won't reveal the details of (because i'm sure he knows the details, Yuzu doesn't strike me as the kind of skater that doesn't understand what he wants out of his blade) haha. Edit: Added sentence about Pattern 99's and progression through boots and blades as a skater develops.
  6. I'm sorry but i can't stop laughing about this
  7. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, it's too soon but not soon enough at the same time ; - ;
  8. Lmao, "what can you do after 40 seconds?" >.<
  9. Nam talks about skating after Yuzu at 0:54 c: "There's no really, like, negatives" Nice!
  10. Yep, i think i saw at least two posts with it trending on reddit (with like 25k upvotes and hundreds of comments) so it's no wonder. Actually, there has been a bunch of figure skating videos or moments that have gone viral on reddit lately (ladies podium mishap at IDF, anna's dress change, keegan holding the japanese flag etc), so i'm thinking of posting more Yuzu things to big reddit communities to try the luck, even though i'm a bit shy and nervous about posting content and not just commenting... (this is me asking others to participate and post more yuzu on reddit themselves if they see it fit in a community since i'm not sure i'll get around to it if you didn't get it lmao...). Adding on eng sub in video form c:
  11. The ISU just uploaded a bunch of old videos, interviews and even some full competitions on their youtube (world's 2019 is there for example)... Probably a mistake since a lot of them are named things such as 'test' or are just plain weird clips (like the interview with boyang where they do a super zoom on his face lmao) but go and download things if you want until they delete/make things unlisted haha. I don't see any yuzu only clips but maybe they'll slip up again later :> https://www.youtube.com/user/SkatingISU/videos
  12. Dorky, dorky, dork :> Too cute so i had to share!
  13. I'm not really sure what this is but they named Yuzuru at #5 c: Edit: “Big Ben Award aims to establish good examples for young people building their dreams(...)to assist young people expanding the positive energy for building the better future of the world.” From their website: "The Tenet of BBA: 1) To praise young persons and organizations by their outstanding achievements in work and society; 2) To set up typical examples; 3) To create a good atmosphere to cherish talents; 4) To encourage more young people to work hard and develop the field of vision; 5) To encourage young people to actively participate in social services, so as to enable them to improve the social responsibility; 6) To strengthen the influence of the brands, especially in the field of finance, city, art, science, education, culture, sport, and etc." http://www.bigbenaward.com/about
  14. Interview from the olympic channel (most of it has already been posted before). New sub of old video c: Yuzuru was and remains so, so strong. Sometimes i find it quite unbelievable u-u Edit: How cute! Yuzu as a senpai is my favourite
  15. Pretty sure he's saying "Go back? *eyebrow wiggle lmao*" because the photographers asked them to back up at that moment :>
  16. I don't know where to post this, but it's very blessed
  17. The way he continues to be a symbol of strength and perserverance to people affected by adverse situations is incredible. I hope everyone in the damaged areas manages to recover effectively with time and resources invested
  18. Sorry to butt in, but you really shouldn't be using Hola. They're quite shady. First of all, Hola isn't a vpn, it's a proxy. A vpn usually has different servers and when you connect to them, your traffic is routed through those servers, that's how a vpn should work. In Hola's case, there are no specific servers owned by Hola itself. Instead each user is used as a Node in the network. This means that Hola redirects your traffic through other Hola users networks and in turn their traffic through your network. For instance, if anyone downloads a torrent or does some shady activity and all that traffic passes through your network; copyright authorities and other agencies will trace it back to you. So they're basically setting up a botnet. They also sell free users bandwidth and log a lot of information, which is never a good thing. This article explains it a bit better in layman terms: https://www.vectra.ai/blogpost/technical-analysis-of-hola. I have little faith in the company that runs Hola. They say they have fixed this but honestly i doubt it, and so does a lot of others. Even if you disregard these vulnerabilities, Hola is still not the best in the business. This is a very comprehensive review of Hola as a whole that i find pretty accurate, so i would advice you to check it out: https://thebestvpn.com/reviews/hola-vpn/. I usually use paid VPNs (mainly nordvpn but currently i'm using protonvpn since i wanted to test out another option. Nordvpn is defintiely the better of the two, but they're a bit pricey unless you choose a longer subscription plan) since they're the most secure and offer unlimited 'data', so i can't really recommend a free one. I do know that protonvpn is offering a 7 day trial on their premium service if you download their free version right now though so that could be an option (they also as i mentioned do have a free version which is supposed to be pretty good, although speed differs a bit depending on what country/continent you choose a server from. I found that europe servers works the best for me, but this might be because i'm in europe). All i have to say is that i really would not use Hola if i were you. Edit: Just asked a friend of mine and he says that Windscribe is a good free option, so besides protonvpn maybe try them?
