Sparkly Ruffle

Sparkly Ruffle (5/67)

  1. Ah sad. ): It’s true that its not consistent to put it there though…
  2. Love how Yuzu is the only guy who appears twice in the quad category! ❤️
  3. Yuzuru is still at the top of his game right now and still the best skater in the world RIGHT NOW. Besides 4Snake in the FS (in the SP the real snake was the hole and I dont regard that as a mistake), and the risk he took on to do a certified 4A, he did brilliantly and beautifully. He lost a lot of points due to 4S and 4A and his opponents were showered with candies but we all know that the points might as well be given blindly. Could he go on to further competitions as Plushenko says? Certainly and he will do well like the god of figure skating he is. But will the scores reflect that? Absolutely not unless everyone in power in the ISU and big feds suddenly disappear. Now, it is not a question of whether he can but a question of whether he wants to. With how he’s been treated, I am not surprised if he does NOT want to. It’s just that he still very much wants to land a clean 4A, and this perhaps outweighed the negatives for him. I can’t wait for jobless and broke ISU, USFSA, etc after Yuzu finally decides enough is enough and ditches these shits. Perhaps what would help is if Yuzu takes two seasons off first, then comes back to yolo a 4A. During the hiatus he can make bank doing ice shows, work on 4A, work on implementing his thesis, etc… while ISU crashes and burns.
  4. I support whatever decision Yuzuru makes about his career, but I can say I am ready for the retirement and post-retirement peaceful and happy life of Yuzuru Hanyu. About the pandemic restrictions, many performers have held "online concerts" where they perform to a limited or no audience and the whole thing is just streamed online to people who bought tickets. There may be additional costs involved in filming but there may also be costs savings in terms of venue size, so it's a possible option. I just want Yuzuru to keep smiling and be happy, I know he loves competition but I also want him to be away from the evil clutches of the ISU and USFSA... They don't deserve to reap any profits from his glory and should just end in irrelevance and corruption already.
  5. I love how Yuzuru makes the effort to try to speak the native language of his skating friends, even to the extent of using Boyang's Chinese nickname. I imagine him looking it up on SNS, it's just so extra and so endearing.
  6. I feel your pain and I'm glad you got to let this all out frankly and unreservedly. I am a #1 proponent of focusing on the positive, but I support you speaking on the truth and sharing your honest feelings. I want us Fanyus to 100% focus on how great Yuzuru did in the circumstances and celebrate every hard-earned achievement. But I get how devastating it is to see that his results don't match his greatness and that other people's results don't reflect their flaws.
  7. Let's be proud of what Yuzuru achieved and not dwell on the sad stuff. We know that the road has not been easy and will never be easy for Yuzu. When all the odds are against him, do you still think there will be a deserving reward? Efforts may lie but will never be in vain, let's not be upset over the results and celebrate the incredible feats Yuzuru has shown us that can never be taken from him.
  8. Wow, that costume... Is Wings of Words a Gundam song?
  9. Nathan is a wild card, his high BV is a big threat but then GPF was sorta "low pressure" and "guaranteed medal" as well and his skates were still blah and the scores were really low (although he did win cos somehow everyone also did badly). So yeah, I don't think he will perform well just because Zuzu ain't there. My above observations also apply to Shoma to some extent. He was also a favourite to win GPF and later 4CC. But he didn't do well both times and didn't win. Chances are that both these guys will definitely be on the podium, but I won't bet good money on what order they will end up in.
  10. Oh I totally forgot about poor Kolyada. I'll be somewhat rooting for him, then. i believe the term originated from tumblr. Sigh, I shall just be watching this comp morosely. Not the figure skating I came for and started liking, for sure.
  11. Great point. Makes me sad considering how many real bidders are going to be wary now, especially considering that the money's going to a good cause.
  12. it keeps dropping... it's at 4mil yen now. ):
  13. ): They need better organization to weed out the fake bids before the numbers get fudged.
  14. 12 mil yen now! Man, so many fake bids ):
