iirc Nathan already had the highest BV in SP last season but only won in SP once at 4CC? Of course, anything can happen next season. ETA All top skaters work with the same small group of well known choreographers, so I am not scared by the Nathan+Shae-Lynn collaboration, it is a normal thing in FS world.

I don't think any of us hope for other skaters to have crappy choreography. I also follow other skaters ( not on the same level, of course), so decent programs are always welcome. And if the competition is without Yuzu in it I can just relax and enjoy everything . No nail biting, sleepless nights, 100+ pages to catch up, indecent quantities of alcohol and so on.

They can make awesome SP together, but still everyone has to land their jumps.

I have the same worries as you at the bottom of my heart. And we can't guess how his plan will work until the first competition. And after all it is a good thing he'll try it first against Javi.

He said that when skating to Seimei he doesn't have to think about the unnecesary things. I guess this program right now is like second skin to him. I remember him doing bits of Seimei at GPF2016 practice. Who would have thought then!

Last season we have seen that perfomances with lower BV could put you on the top if clean (Javi at Worlds 2017) or drown you if not clean (again Javi at Worlds 2017). Probably there is no safe choice. The risk of introduction of 4lo in both SP and FS was never rewarded properly. And clean perfomance at Worlds underscored. I guess it was difficult decision for Yuzu. I'll miss second 3A combo

Tbh I would be more excited with a new FS. But Seimei is my favourite anyway. I guess many people feel slightly (or greatly) disappointed and it is ok. But it is Yuzu who will skate at the Olympics, so he has the right to choose the music he wants and feels comfortable with. Now I only wish for at least one more season for him as competitive skater with no repeats. When I first heard about Chopin 3.0 I was worried about the damage that unclean perfomance of WR-breaking program could do points-wise. But last season with two new programs judges were already harsh with him. So there is nothing to lose in that sense. And judges don't follow Yuzu the same way we do. Probably they don't care that much about repeating?
