    As you say, it was 'claimed' at the conference that TR and IN would be incorporated into other categories and a multiplication factor applied to PCS to calculate score. It was also stated that special movements would be rewarded as part of choreo seq. Again it was reducing the need for a complex programme, for skaters who are not able to execute such movements well. One such example, from a few months back. Someone wrote a very comprehensive article about doughnut spins and it was quite obvious to see from the shape of the spin, some skaters just flexed the leg at the knee joint and grabbed the skate, but the doughnut shape was lacking because the form lacked the 'O' shape in so much as there was no hyper extension of the back to create the 'O' shape. The poorly executed doughnut was awarded high score - GOE and contributed to high PCS score even though the bullets were not achieved. From this it is possible to consider the adequacy and consistency of adjudication of individual elements which make up a programme and whether the human eye is perceptive to make such judgement.

    This year has been a real cross roads for the governing body, feds and skaters. Glad to see at least one skater with decent skating skills on the podium, well done Jun Jumping can be very exciting, but not so much if it becomes the sole focus of a skate, not even going to grant such skating with the classification of being a programme, because it is not. For a tiny moment there was a little concern that empty jumping could grab silver and then be touted as being better than Yuzu at same age, winning bronze. Young Yuzu winning bronze at World's 2012 with a rich and full programme, laced with the raw emotion of a young impulsive Romeo, fighting on despite the slip, looking back puts the jump fest to shame. Scoring is still an issue with rotation - pre and under, edge calls or not, height and distance, exit speed to achieve bullets needs a complete overhaul. This is 2023, camera and AI tech is readily available. Pretty much all sports are developing technology appropriate for good quality adjudication suitable to the individual sport and involving experts in the relevant fields to ensure that it done correctly. The paying public are becoming increasingly vocal about the many and varied controversies and no longer can be dismissed by those in charge. There has been much discussion about this, but inevitably if the sport is to survive people want to see a genuine and fair competition where skill and a little luck win the day.

    YuzuSakura watch. People have very kindly been visiting the Yoko tree and posting updates. The buds have erupted through the protective sepal case and the petals will unfurl very soon. In the nemophila ground cover is a very pretty shade of blue, much favoured in Yuzu's costume colours

    It is very sad that some people feel the ongoing need to say hurtful things to and about Yuzu. It may be a different issue, but there are some people who insist upon doubting the veracity of Yuzu having been at ice rink Sendai when the earthquake hit. There are even people who claim that Yuzu was not even in Sendai at the time. There is evidence that Yuzu was at the rink, he'd registered for his practice lesson, there are eye witnesses and the local radio even announced that Yuzu was safe, as it was known he and other students and teachers were at the rink. Sadly there are those who continue to be very vocal in their attempts to discredit Yuzu and his donations of money and time to recovery efforts ( some measured understatement in my comments for the sake of diplomacy on this public forum)

    Please don't be anguished. Support Yuzu in the way that is best for you. On twt there some post campaigns to join In like the sakura spring photos, favourite colours, places to visit in Sendai, memories of Gift. People create pretty threads like Yuzu and otters in similar poses or costumes as cakes or tea cups. Alternatively have a look through the gorgeous fanart and create your own Pinterest pages to keep them. There's enough to join in with whatever you are comfortable to do

    After the most phenomenal performance of Rondo at Gift, it will be a superb tribute to have RonCapu commemorated as part of the long awaited Snow Globe Yuzu clasped his hand to his heart until the final bow, capturing the moment.

    As much as Yuzu stated at the beginning "these programmes are your friends" Yuzu perhaps also meant that listening to the story could also help one connect with a wider reality and one's own feelings. Sometimes in the harshness of reality that each and every one of us must face, those truths can be hard to confront and overcome, but there will also come a day when we have the courage to finally face those things head on. Maybe today is not that day, but that is alright, the time will be right another day.

    So many feelings of love are projected onto the little Yoko cheery tree. Perhaps because none of us can actually see or meet Yuzu to let him know how much he means to fans, the little tree has become imbued with the multitudinous sentiments of affection and hope which fans wish to impart to Yuzu, it has become one of the foci to project good feelings, like the various shrines, Ice rink Sendai and other meaningful places.
