  1. Ah, she's so sweet! Such a spontaneous reaction. I would cry too if I was standing in front of his iconic, beautiful costumes and skates in person. So much weight of history behind them..and would make me feel closer to Yuzu. It would be overwhelming I think.
  2. Yuzuru the Corporation. I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around all this. Such a paradigm shift overnight, this newly independent, business-savvy Yuzuru, with all kinds of new surprises up his sleeve, especially since two days ago we were all anticipating and planning for a new competitive season. But I sure do like the sound of never to be used, bullied or manipulated ever again. For the first time since Yuzuru's announcement, I felt a little spark of excitement at reading this. It seems that when Yuzuru sets his sights on something, he wastes no time putting plans into motion. He's amazing!
  3. I personally still think it's important, especially since it is to help save the sport that Yuzuru loves so much, and if you and Anabel still feel motivated, it's still worth pursuing. But in the end it may be more up to the Fanyus who have the expertise to do the writing/web designing/AI analysis, and if they still feel the motivation to continue. I have no expertise to contribute, but would be willing to print and send a letter. I believe there are still a lot of Fanyus who have other skaters they like and care about, who also love the sport, and who would still want to make judging fair for the sake of a new generation of skaters, even if it's too late to help Yuzu. Perhaps it would be good to take a break for a week or two rather than trying to make a decision by Sunday, and then come back to it, give yourselves and others time to process the grief and intense mixed emotions of Yuzuru's retirement. I think it's ok to wait, and then reevaluate. It's just too hard to have a clear head right now, emotions are still too raw. I want to thank you and Anabel, and your whole letter-writing team for all the work you've put in so far on this campaign. It's a fine tribute to Yuzuru, even if you choose not to continue right now.
  4. I love this message for Yuzu from Nam. Now this is a sincere, genuine tribute to a friend, and the pic he chose is so cute.
  5. I’m going to have to give up my resistance to social media and join Twitter just so I can participate in future Pooh rains! This is amazing!
  6. Yuzu certainly isn't shy about showing off his body these days. Of course, he has nothing to be shy about.
  7. Haha, this is the best. And yet, it does capture the insane heights he achieves somehow.
  8. Umeko, thank you so much for sharing. Your description is eloquent and poetic. I'm glad you and everyone at the theater had such an amazing, transcendent experience watching Yuzuru perform on screen. I also can't wait to see the video of the performance in it's entirety, I have no doubt we will all be mezmerized!
  9. Oh my goodness, it never ceases to amaze me how loved Yuzu is all over the world. It's one thing know it intellectually, but it's another to see pictures of all these people gathering together to watch his skating and support him, and not even at a live venue! That is wonderful! I hope Yuzu sees these pictures and banners from the Taiwanese Fanyus.
  10. I believe the opening is Afternoon Parade by Suga Shikao. But I'm not sure about the closing. I know it's in the Ice Show threads for Makuhari and Nagoya somewhere though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKatJwXyRtw
  11. Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm so excited, I don't think I'll sleep tonight. Yuzu looks adorable and happy too.
  12. As a member who hasn't posted enough to see the vent thread apparently, I appreciate being able to read honest opinions and conversations about things that will directly affect Yuzu's decision to continue to compete, and has affected his career over the last quad. New members, and those of us who are uneducated about FS scoring need to be able to see these things. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts with all of us. I feel the same.

  15. I'm on this one right now, it's working great. https://www.twitch.tv/yuzurumayo
  16. I spent all day trying to focus at work, but checking my phone every two minutes for new photos and videos, after having gotten up at 3 am to check for new photos and videos. I think this month is going to really mess with my sleep schedule, but it's so worth it!
  17. 1. When did you become a fan of Yuzuru? While watching PyeongChang Olys. As an American, I tuned in to root for Nathan Chen. But when I saw Yuzuru skate Chopin's Ballade No. 1, I realized I was witnessing something extraordinary. I was beyond moved, especially after his gala performance of Notte Stellata. I felt like my whole world shifted in some way. And then I read his back story, and realized what a kind, humble, reverent, and generous person he is, and I was hooked even more. He's overcome so much and persevered. I've been following Yuzuru ever since, and I always will. 2. When and why did you sign up for Planet Hanyu? Shortly after the free skate at Beijing Olys. I generally avoid any kind of social media, but the grief and pain for Yuzu was too hard to bear alone, and I didn't have anyone else irl who understood. I began searching the internet for what other fans were saying, and found Planet Hanyu. This community became a lifeline during that week before the Gala and beyond with news of Yuzu's daily gala practices, his press con, translations of interviews, and of course, the outpouring of love and support for Yuzu. It helped me feel better about what had happened to see that he was surrounded by love of fans, volunteers, and other skaters, and to see his resilience first hand. I feared for him, that people would be cruel because he did not medal or land the 4A, but Fanyus, you helped restore my faith in humankind. 3. Did you make any irl friends through Planet Hanyu? Not yet, but I hope to. 4. Have you participated in any group projects on Planet Hanyu? No, but I look forward to doing so in the future. 5. Did you attend any meetups with other satellites at competitions? I have not had the opportunity, but like many others here, it is my dream to see Yuzu compete or perform in person, so I can't wait to meet other satellites. 6. What do you like most about this forum? That the members here are kind and respectful, and hold Yuzu's health and happiness of the utmost importance. And of course, the treasure trove of archives and videos, the education I have received about figure skating/scoring issues from other knowledgeable fanyus, and most importantly, news and twitter posts in the general Yuzuru chat thread, that include translations! A lot of the interviews and articles would not be accessible to me otherwise, and I appreciate everyone who works so hard to provide these translations more than I can say. 7. Would you like to participate in the giveaway? Yes please! Thank you, Planet Hanyu.
  18. Happy Anniversary, Planet Hanyu! I am very grateful to have found this wonderful community, and proud to be a Fanyu and to continue to support Yuzuru. Thank you so much to the PH team for building and maintaining such a welcoming community to celebrate and honor such an exceptional athlete and human being.
