Actually I wonder, I looked her up because of this and from what I've seen so far, it looks like the main draw and technique of her style is her use of negative space... or rather, the way she use positive space to draw attention to negative space. With this piece specifically, it looks to be composed around Yuzuru's contour which in this piece is the main area of negative space, which is different from her other pieces that revolve around adding in positive space into negative shape as opposed to around.

The piece can definitely be interesting to look at if you focus on purely colours and negative space. Imo the negative space of Ballade no. 1 shirt and the olympic rings are kind of fun. Also I like the light contrast between the indigo shadow and the purple. Imo this one doesn't necessary scream "Yuzuru Hanyu" to me I personally liked her other two pieces more. Even though the style of this piece is abstract, with loose lines, the brush strokes follow the contour of Yuzuru's figure which actually tightens the structure of the piece, which imo doesn't fit Yuzuru's light, airy movements. Actually I looked her up and it actually looks like a lot of her pieces are very stylised portraits and actually looked quite different from the three pieces she did of Yuzuru, so I wonder why she decided to mix up her style here

Looks to be an ice show set up for Yuzuru like ToI was in 2014?? Can anyone with better Japanese give a better translation? Tickets preorder window will be 17 Mar. -20 Mar. and tickets will officially go on sale starting 1 Apr. It's a 3 day show from the looks of it, 13 Apr. - 15 Apr.

I don't think the big bids is a turn off. People retract bids all the time, esp with things like these that go on for a long time. Not to mention if you're really interested in the item, if nothing else you'd probably like to see where the auction goes. Tbh what's more annoying is the fact that the big bids are up for a long time. There's a reason why auctions tend to go up at small increments, it's because people want to get the item for the least amount. So hypotheticlaly, if the bid is currently at 3M, slowly rising up, then all of a suddent jumped to 20M and stayed there for 2 hours, if the 20M turns out to be fake or was retracted, that's two hours of small increases to the initial 3M that the auction just lost. But also that's why I thought some of the ridiculous bids might be real(or at least partially), yeah the jump from 5M to 50M was ridiculous, and tbh i wouldn't be surprised if the 50M was fake, but after the initial jump, there were small, reasonable increases being added to the 50M before it jumped to 100M.

They need to find a better platform for this auction. Esp with Yuzuru's current case, recently 2 time Olympic champion and recognised legend of the sport.

Ngl, a small, paranoid part of me is just, what if those bids were real, what if they were filtered out by mistake or bc the bidder wasn't aware they had to reverify their bid(through e-mail?)

So how does the bidding actually work? Do people just throw in the values they want to bid?? Bc I would assume they'd need to at least make some kind of deposit and then several layers of verifications
