  1. Actually not necessarily, the Worlds were bad like we've got if I remember correctly 3 confirmed covid cases and we didn't even had an audience with the WTT we not only would have a competition taking place in a city where the covid cases are increasing but we would also have an audience that could make everything worse the safety of this athletes is not a joke, boycott the competitions by not watching it or commenting anything when it's already happening is not gonna make diference
  2. I agree this event is probably more related to the Summer Olympics than FS in general, I doubt they would go for an event like this if the Olympics weren't in Japan even though it makes us fans worry a lot about the athletes (Yuzu especially because of his asthma) looking with a more political view it's a "good" way to test the safety of the competition and analyze where they need to improve if they can't pull out an event like this they can't pull out the Olympics (China will probably start paying a lot attention to Japan competitions to kinda have base of what to do and what not to do)
  3. Do they really think this is a good idea? I'm so done with ISU honestly
  4. I am going to be little biased because he was one of my favorite skaters before he retired so for me it's Patrick and Yuzu rivalry, I still remember the way they were "fighting" to see who would be the one to score over 100 in the short and each of them getting closer and closer, each of them chasing the OGM like there was no tomorrow Yuzu's with Parisian Walkways and everything was just too iconic
  5. Exactly everyone have a different motivation it can be "i want to win an OGM" like Yuma or Nathan's motivation but it could also be "I want to land a 4A" that is Yuzu's motivation or it could be "I want to prove that even if you're older you can still keep up with younger skaters" that is Elizaveta's motivation, not everyone's goal is to win the Olympics or a World title especially Yuzu since he already won or got podium in pretty much every competitions out there.
  6. I find some of Nathan's programs interesting (my favorite being rocketman) but I've never really watched any them with this camera angle where we can see the whole rink, now that I saw it I just can't put into words how overscored he actually is. The jumps are obviously the best part of his program the technique he have is super clean the jumps looks good and well landed but that's it, like where is the transitions? He doesn't make difficult entries or exits, it honestly looks like all he's doing is crossover crossover jump or crossover glide jump it does not appear that the program have a flow to it, the choreography looks very simple not as difficult as it could be for an athlete at his level he also does not incorporate tiny parts of the choreography between any of his jumps like I've seen Yuzuru did in the past. The step sequence is ok but it could be better the spins are also decent, but in the end it all looks kinda boring to be honest. If Nathan is not doing any of this extra things to help him get higher goes how can he achieve this super high scores?
  7. When I first watched this I thought she wanted to go home earlier because boy what a travel
  8. Yep I just compare the two of them because of that whole thing that happened when he first debuted in the senior though, about the technique Nathan have a better one definitely I should've used a better exemple but I hope you guys catch the idea
  9. First of all Nathan was indeed overscored here he did not scored over 100 in the short to help him reach over 320 in this competition even though this was not why he won over Yuzuru (at least not why he won here). Nathan have a better stamina as you say and he also have good jumps but if he's not overscored why is Vincent Zhou getting such low scores if he's doing pretty much everything Nathan is doing? Vincent have amazing jumps and can pull out a program with many quads without many problems even though his PC's could've been better and he could add more transitions like Nathan who could do the same thing and improve his programs, but Vincent is not out there scoring 330 or close to this because he still have things he could do better like Nathan, when Vincent appeared he was the one everyone thought could beat Nathan and in the future he is probably the one ISU is gonna pick to be Nathan's next "rival". Yuzuru is totally capable of keeping up with the younger skaters and he could beat Nathan if he wasn't so overscored, have any of you guys watched the Skate America and Saket Canada 2019 and compared the two of them? Nathan was first after the short with 102.71 and he won earning 196.38 in the long and 299.09 in total, in the other hand Yuzuru got in the short 109.60 and he won earning 212.99 in the long and 322.59 in total. So Nathan turn into this beast and earn this massive scores only when he's competing against Yuzuru? Very convenient if you think about it he does not achieve this massive scores normally like the world record 335, pretty much all of the competitions he achieve something close to this is when he's competing against Yuzu it's like ridiculous
  10. Hello and welcome I hope you enjoy your time here Figure Skating is not an usual sport when you hear "experts" talking about any skater there's a lot of things to be considered, most of the times they're going to be biased towards an athlete from their own country or they're gonna go with the flow and praise the skater that is "on the top" right now to just say bad things about them next season. I've been a fan of figure skating for many years and for an athlete to be considered the "complete package" there's so many things you need to consider, you need to analyze if the skater is consistent, if he can balance the technical score and the PCs, if that skater have good jumps, if the skater have good spins like there's so many things to look at it that it's hard to pick only one skater and label him as "the complete package". I'm not a huge fan of Nathan but I've watched most of his competitions and you can't label him as "the complete package" you really just need to watch his competitions to see that he needs to work on the PC's and be a little bit more consistent under pressure so when you look at those "experts" opinions and you watch both of them skate you can tell the opinion is "biased" and does not reflect the reality, they're pretty delusional sometimes with the things they say so don't take them too serious I hope I answered some of your questions
  11. I was waiting for someone to bring this video since this conversation started
  12. I was wondering about it too, playing safe i think the best choice would be the 4A, 4S maybe a 4Lo even though I don't think putting a 4A and a 4Lo in the same program is a good idea (at least not now) so maybe a 4T+3T and 4T+Eu+3S? Maybe going with the Toe and the Sal would be better since he's very familiarized with this jumps. This thing about the 3A being a requirement in this case is something I'm indeed very curious, technically the 4A is still a quad and we would still need a 3A, so I don't know what ISU's gonna decide, they probably didn't even expected that someone would be crazy enough to try this on a high level competition
  13. I don't the USA is gonna do something like this, with Nathan being the biggest rival Yuzuru have right now and Yuzu's high chance of being the first man to win 3 gold medals back to back at the Olympic in like 100 years if they do this it would be like a self boycott though
  14. I've been a ballerina for 12 years and I just wanna know how could anyone who understand a bit about this form of art have the audacity to say something like this? Yuzuru is one of the very few men that I've seen really incorporate ballet elements in his programs, like what are you talking about sis?
  15. I agree even though i like Otonal I don't think it's the best choice, the step sequence is the best part for me and I really enjoy it but changing the jumps would be even more difficult if he choses this one since he already explored pretty much everything he could achieve with it he's low key done, so maybe going with a brand new program closer to ballade would be more reasonable (I don't think Yuzu's gonna bring a more rocky program like LMEY to the Olympics though) Btw if Yuzu wins his 3rd gold I think it would be so cool to see him performing PW as a gala, would be such an emotional moment to see he perform the program that gave him him his 1st medal PS: I just wanted to add that this is so cute i can't
  16. This would be one of the most amazing/crazy things I would see in figure skating in many years and I'm here for it
  17. This two would made such a great combo though
  18. Which program do you guys think Yuzu's gonna do for the Olympics? I don't think he will go with LMEY and H&E, I would love to see him bring back Otonal and Origin or maybe he will go with new programs
  19. Let's be real the USA as whole puts to much pressure on Nathan. Said that we can really look at the big picture and see what may happens in Beijin, first of all Nathan is gonna compete under a lot of pressure being able to constantly win against Yuzuru for this past few years is gonna make the expectations his fans and his country have for him go through the roof and not only that but as you already said ISU is probably not gonna help him much inflating his scores since the Olympics are a global well known event that even non figure skaters fans watch and they probably don't want their judges or the competition to be marked as "biased" towards one of the athletes. When it comes to scores we can see that the Olympics deliver the most fair ones so it's very rare for an athlete to be overscored or underscored, so when it comes to scores I have a feeling that Nathan knows his scores are inflated so when this next games come he will be extra nervous knowing that he have to deliver a perfect SP and FS to be able to win.
  20. Depends Daisuke and Yuzu both ended up at 2012 NHK and both got podium at the worlds that year, so depends it might happens
  21. I'm personally inclined to pick the first option as what might actually happens, I don't think Yuma will pick NHK he knows that it's risky since we would have three possible scenarios: 1- NHK choose Yuma over Yuzu (which I think maybe the most unlikely option) 2- NHK pick Yuzu over Yuma 3- NHK pick both of them (in this case Yuma would have a direct confrontation with Yuzu which is something I think he doesn't want) Having two options that does not portrait a good scenario for him I don't think Yuma will pick NHK and we also have the fact the he's a younger skater and is not as consolidated as Nathan and Yuzu so trying to pick competitions that both of them are already used to pick wouldn't end up good for him, Yuma picking CoC and Rostelecom would be the best
