Can somebody tell me why the new revised judging rules seem designed to hit Yuzu in particular? Do they want to get rid of him so much? It hurts my heart, it does. Here he is, trying his best and achieving magic on that ice, keeping figure skating alive if not single-handedly, then at least being a significant reason why competition and ice show tickets are sold, and ISU seems determined to make sure less accomplished skaters win over him.

It's practically identical to what we saw on the ice! (Am I salty? Why yes, I am very salty.)

Remember that Tracy said that he was quadding around, and he wouldn't do that if he couldn't jump quads. So take comfort in that - I don't think it was in any way a misinformation, as she was simply describing what each of the skaters she trains were doing that day. "Tracy: It’s an Olympic moment. But, I had a moment today, where you know, Jun [Hwan Cha] is fixing his skate and Yuzu’s quadding all over [laughs] and Evgenia is triple something-triple looping, and Jason is doing all this magic, and I said to Jun “I’m just trying to stay out of the way!” [Laughter] Because, you know, and I’m grateful. I’m so grateful. "

I really recommend listening to the In The Loop episode with Tracy Wilson. In addition to mentioning Yuzu "quadding around" the rink, she also tells this wonderful anecdote of Yuzu and Zhenya helping to mend the holes in the ice after practice and its impact on the younger skaters present. And Tracy Wilson just seems like a darn nice woman (so I can understand why she bonded so with Jason Brown, LOL). At 3:51 in this music video, there's a clip of someone (Brian?) brushing something (a tear?) from Yuzu's cheek. Does anyone know where it's from, and have a link to the full clip?

Who are the guys on either end? I recognize Jason Brown (so much better looking with the new haircut), and Yuzu and Javi are, well, they're Yuzu and Javi, but the two others? I'm sure someone here knows.

I grabbed as many of them as I could from Alatariel Nerwen's playlist at the end of November, but the first grab I accidentally limited the quality to 360 or 480 - I did a second grab earlier this week - the list had shrunk by nearly a hundred vids - 460 to 377, and even that was really 350 because of deleted vids. I don't know when I'll have time to sort through the files to get them back into a chronological list, though. But I have them. It's actually the newer ones that are the hardest to get.

Is that the same interviewer that asked about his favorite jumps in the tweet up-thread? If so, I really like her. She doesn't press or badger him and knows when to stop the interview. She shows respect to her interviewees.

I agree! While I absolutely adore Otoñal, Parisian Walkways will always reign in my heart as my favorite SP of his. I can't not watch when I see it, so no trains for me...

I like that he didn't wait until last minute. I'm sure Yuzu thought about Keegan when he timed his withdrawal - after all, he had until Sunday technically.

We knew it was coming, but it is a gut punch nonetheless. I hope he allows himself enough time to heal, so that he can come back all the more stronger in 2019 - now that he knows more about his own weak spots, he's intelligent enough to design programs that will work with his strengths and diminish his risks, and wise enough to actually follow through on it.

Strasbourg? Ooooohhhh - must start saving, then I guess. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze it in.....

I know we must trust that he will make his own choices, but it is so hard and scary without anything but scraps of information.
