  1. The OP says that this is a bookstore outside of Tokyo promoting the new Yuzu DVD. They're really taking marketing seriously and giving Yuzu the attention he deserves.
  2. Interesting analysis of both Yuzu and Sasha Trusova's latest free skates. https://www.reddit.com/r/FigureSkating/comments/d7ze5t/the_scoring_of_the_junior_ladies_event_at_baltic/ And this is an analysis of the ladies' even at the latest JGP, especially Alysa Liu's free skate. Something is rotten in the state of the ISU.
  3. Awesome! She is admirable!
  4. Ice King Yuzu in all his glory. He looks like an otherworldly, magical creature on these pics.
  5. Wooow! It's hard to believe that these pics were taken by a fan during ACI practice. They look better than most professional photoshoots I've ever seen. Yuzu's sooo beautiful and photogenic!
  6. According to Google Translate, Daily Sports will start a new series with large-scale Yuzu features that spread over two pages starting from October 1st.
  7. Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. I never saw anything crossed out on score protocols...
  8. This looks like a fair and reasonable solution. It would make direct comparisons possible and create accountability... And that's exactly why the ISU would never even consider it! And this would also require highly developed technical equipment and such. You know how the ISU doesn't have the money... blah, blah, blah... One very simple solution to get rid of the most biased scoring and judging would be to just delete the highest as well as the lowest scores among all the scores given. This way, you can achieve a more even and fair score in an easy way. Extreme outliers would be eliminated. This would be simple, effective and not create any additional cost. Many judged sports introduced this successfully many years ago. So, why not figure skating, one has to wonder? To be honest, I think the ISU doesn't even want judging to become more transparent, accountable or fair. After all, that would take away their power to, let's just say, steer the results in the right direction.
  9. Warrior Yuzu getting ready for battle. And yes, @4Nessie, we definitely need a murder face Yuzu emoji!
  10. All I can say about the possibility of splitting figure skating into artistic and technical programs, competitions or whatever, is that if the ISU is really delusional and dumb enough to do this, it would be the end of figure skating. The most fascinating and exciting characteristic of figure skating is that it's a sport that combines physical prowess and technical abilities with music, performance and interpretation. Without this unique combination, who would still be interested in it? I certainly haven't read or heard about one single figure skating fan who's in favor of a split like that. And if the ISU is indeed willing to destroy figure skating and does decide to make the split, Yuzu would be out of there. If they should really do that before Yuzu r******, I'm sure that it would enough of a reason for him to step back. I can't imagine that he'd allow the ISU to destroy his art and craft like this and that he'd actually bend to their new idea of figure skating. The ideal of Yuzu's skating is the perfect fusion of art and technique. There's no separating these two in his vision of figure skating. This is the ideal he's always strived for. And he's achieved this better and in more perfect form than any skater before him. And to be honest, the way figure skating is going, I can't imagine that anyone will ever reach his level of excellence. This is why I believe and hope that Yuzu will do many ice shows for many years after he r****** from competing. He definitely has enough of a draw to tour around the world and sell out ice rinks around the globe. I look forward to what he can and will do after the restrictions and pressure of competition are over. Yuzu's already created skating and programs that surpassed everything we've ever seen before him. It's mind-boggling for me to imagine what he could put out into the world once all the restraints of scores and rules are gone. I also don't think that Yuzu would want to do anything that involves political games or lobbying. To me, he doesn't seem to be this type of person. He's more someone who prefers to focus on his art and craft. That's why I also don't think that he'd get involved in skating federation issues. Anyway, all I can say is that I'm grateful for every moment Yuzu still competes, every moment he gives us the excitement, passion and emotions that only he can generate. I will enjoy and savor every moment of this.
  11. At least there are true experts like Max who dare to publicly question ISU judging... In slow motion, this looks even much worse than in real-time. Does the ISU think that everybody watching figure skating is blind?
  12. Thank you! That's adorable! Runrun's fanart always makes me melt. She's such an amazing artist and storyteller.
  13. Beautiful Origin fanart by Runrun. This is really cute, but I don't understand what it means. Could someone who knows Japanese please help?
  14. Yes, please! Yuzu and Boyang power! I really hope that both of them have a HEALTHY season and many clean performances! Show them who the true quad kings are and what quality jumps really are, Yuzugoat and Boyangman! Regarding On Ice Perspectives, I've been checking their YouTube and Instagram since yesterday. Still nothing...
  15. Now that you mentioned it, I realized that this might indeed be a potential problem. It's really great that you thought of this, @yuzuangel! It's sad that we live in a world where there is so much political contention that even the show of a certain flag might mean a certain political message or cause trouble, but this is, unfortunately, the case. So, yes, we really have to be careful about this and not risk any potential problems. Thank all of you ladies who talked about this and came up with great new ideas! I think showing a map of the world is really a great solution! After all, our message of support for Yuzu comes from all over the world. But why not just a map of the world in heartshape? I think it's not even necessary to pinpoint on the map where you come from? I mean, a world map really represents all of us. Also, I think it would be nice to have something from Planet Hanyu. Do we actually have an official Planet Hanyu logo? Thank you so much to @yuzuangel for putting this project together and thank you to everybody involved in this!
  16. I went through the thread on Twitter but it wasn't mentioned who held the lecture or whether it was a Yale professor, lecturer, guest lecturer or something.
  17. The In the Loop guys really say it as it is. They have some clear opinions on the biased and incorrect judging that happens more and more often these days. And a Yale Professor talked about corruption in the ISU during a lecture.

Amazing! I didn't notice this before. I think with Yuzu's programs, you can always discover something new every time you watch them, no matter how often you've already watched them. I'm telling you, one day an art school or university will offer a course called "The Art of Details - Deciphering Yuzuru Hanyu's Programs".
  19. Yuzu's just pure elegance and grace! He's so beautiful to watch. Every movement of his looks like a piece of art! It would be wonderful to watch the entire creative process of a program from start to finish including choosing the music, designing and making the costume, creating the choreography, practising etc. Maybe one day Yuzu will allow a TV team to accompany him during this process. That's not likely to happen while he's still competing, but perhaps after he r******, he might allow a TV station to make a documentary about him and the creation of his programs. I can already say with certainty that this kind of documentary would become an absolute blockbuster.
  20. Wow! This looks awesome! Thank you so much!
  21. Just out of curiosity. Would it be allowed for a lady to do two 3As in her short program? Would a layout of e.g. 3A-3T, 3A, 3Lo be valid?
  22. Watch out, ISU! He's coming for you... By the way, I just noticed that we don't have a murder face Yuzu emoji.
  23. When Javi was a crab...
  24. Thank figure skating gods for his skintight Under Armour... If that was just a little teaser, how am I supposed to survive the full videos...
