  1. Yes, I think we can now certify that all Satellites have passed through the successive stages of Yuzu deprivation ... Entrenched denial (I'm not crying! I'm not!) Bargaining with reality (We're fine. It's all in our calculations.) Mild melancholy (Be reincarnated as fanyus? No thanks.) Chronic depression (Losing [him] is like death.) Budding hysteria (4Lz? 4F? 4A? We're ready.) ... and have officially attained the final, terminal stage ... Outright psychosis (Pink onesie? We love it!)
  2. As a visual palate cleanser and to promote pleasant dreams, a small tribute to the only clothing that truly does our Overlord justice ...
  3. Hey, watch whom you're slandering. I AM and old lady (on paper, anyhow) and I wouldn't be caught dead in that obscenity! As Ginny Weasley would say: "I'm not wearing that; it's GHASTLY!"
  4. What an amazing labor of love. I know Yuzu will feel the devotion and care that went into it. You guys are the best. A million thanks.
  5. OK, Yuzu, if you're watching (and listening): Just think how you could CRUSH music like this, especially as a SP.
  6. You have so much to be proud of -- and I know Yuzu would be proud of you. He would smile that huge smile and cheer you for choosing such a difficult path and fighting your way through so many obstacles. He would say fans like you give him strength to pursue his dreams -- and he would mean it. So many opportunities are ahead of you, and I feel sure one of those is the opportunity to see Yuzu skate. He loves the sport and his fans, and he will skate for many years to come, either competitively or in ice shows. Keep your courage and hold on to your vision of seeing Yuzu in person. I hope it will happen much sooner than you can imagine. Ganbatte!
  7. ... singing with is blades and his body ... Gorgeously said and so true. At his best, I feel like the music is skating.
  8. The conjunction of Yuzu's ascendance as a skater and the Great Japan Earthquake -- or rather how he responded to that cataclysm -- will define his whole life. Because Japan is so subject to quakes, he will be called on every few years to bring hope and comfort to another group of traumatized survivors in another devastated region. What must it be like at 24 to look ahead to that kind of reality? The responsibility must sometimes be crushing. I know Yuzu's family has raised him to understand how lucky he is -- and in many ways he's been extravagantly blessed. But I can understand why, when asked whether, given a chance at another life, he would come back as Yuzuru Hanyu or someone else, he said someone else. A small side note: It jumped out at me in the video of his exchange with Mami-sensei that he giggled as he acknowledged his ongoing suffering, which she had pointed out. I've noticed he also giggles when voicing emotions that might, to some degree, cut against Japanese norms, like his extreme individual competitiveness. Sort of puts a whole different spin on his giggly-ness, which is one of his most endearing qualities. Part of what defines him is the courage stay close to his pain and, sometimes, to go against the grain of a very powerful culture. Another confirmation that his greatness as a skater reflects his greatness as a human being. End of sermon (for now).
  9. Surely some glimpses of Murderface Yuzu! Movie looks incredible, too.
  10. I'm all for Sing Sing Sing! (Though I do love Otonal.) Jazzy Zu is killer Zu!
  11. Are you able to really take in and savor that fact that you have inspired countless people to overcome tragedies or things that held them back and to pursue their own highest aspirations and dreams? ETA: Next question: Can we discuss it over dinner?
  12. Yes, I'm sure she's immensely proud and gratified that her labor of love has allowed him to reach such heights. Nevertheless, if I were his mom, my response to the glove incident would have been: "Fine. If one wrong glove is the end of the world, you can pack your own damn bags from now on!" Just sayin' ...
  13. That would be worth Both. Kidneys.
  14. Noooooooooooo! I didn't think of that . I withdraw my earlier comment. Although you must admit it looks better on Pengui-San than on Nate...
  15. Well, they do rock it in the costume department.
  16. Now we know what a Disney princess looks like in UA! (Gorgeous, of course.)
  17. The thing is, with any other human, the proportions of that doll (The Waist, long legs, etc) would be a cartoonish exaggeration. With him, it's pretty close to accurate! ETA: Actually, I've thought for a while that if you stuck big boobs on him, he'd make the perfect Wonder Woman.
