I haven't thought of this before but now I can't help but wonder too. Maybe it's because Kikuchi-san is actually a warlock indeed (like what Spanish media said) and he has bewitched every fanyu.

Still kind of Yuzu-related. The lady playing the piano is the empress?
-
I honestly don't know what it's about Yuzu that makes me root for him this much. I agree with everything you guys have said about Yuzu. The thing is, there are many others who are also talented and have a good personality and also experienced/triumphed over hardships, but I've never been a fan of those people. There were times when I got interested in this athlete/celebrity, but I lost interest after a while. With Yuzu, it's been more than a year already and yet instead of losing interest, I'm getting more invested. So yeah, I agree with @salty, "magnetic isn't a strong enough word for him".

Is that Yuzu?

A working video of this please: From this site: https://www.fgsk8.com/archives/51877920.html . I checked kaeryth's awesome compilation but I'm not sure if this video is here:

On the topic of Yuzu's greatness (and how some people use the “Hanyu is not the best at anything” argument), another awesome post by Alice: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/177252880354/this-thing-about-yuzuru-hanyu-which-i-cant

Interrupting your serious discussion with my random discovery. I was trying to search for a full broadcast of The Ice 2011, and found this blog: https://blog.goo.ne.jp/juli_2010/e/5f9dc7086d61bc3a5bb2a2f737364cbb I google-translated it (because I'm THAT bored) and this part caught my interest: Cue squealing! Cue "aww, my heart!" BTW, if anyone knows where to find the full broadcast of The Ice 2011 (if there is one), please share it to this poor (bored) soul.

I'm with Yuzu and Machida.

Yuzu is in 33rd place of famous Japanese in Vietnam?
-
Links are in the tweet thread.
-
Ummm.. what?? ETA: I see, it's actually normal.
-
Not available in my country.
-
What CM is this? I mean the Yuzu one (of course).
-
Where's this from and if you have a video of it? Please and thank you!
-
Get well soon! BUT, comment still. It'll help you heal faster.
-
I think you made a lot of sense, but what do i know? Thanks, still.
-
Oooh I see. I translated the tweet and formed a wrong conclusion. Sorry.
-
I thought it was because the setting was in Sendai? And that his dad told him to or at least suggested it to him? Very well could have been just my imagination though. Japan's National treasure was asked, and the lady answered Yuzu? But she got it wrong. Did i get it right? What's the correct answer?

In my opinion, you're taking the fun out of this thread. Sorry if I seem harsh, it's just not fun when someone polices every little thing. This is a fan forum, not a workplace where everything is stiff and serious. We've had this discussion before. This is a forum for Yuzu, so everything here is out of love for him. All in good fun.

I feel like i'm in school again.
-
This was photoshopped, from what i gathered in the thread. Still, I would love to be that fanyu who could afford to do this.
-
Same, this is where I stand. I don't really care to "fight it out", but there's a line where even I just have to, like the instance I've said before.

I see you've moved on the topic of commentators, but i would still like to add something. I've seen a lot of comments on YT regarding Hanretty's commentary. I didn't care about it but i did see some people who did and called out Hanretty. To be fair, Hanretty's comment was indeed misleading. If new fans heard it, they'll think Shoma's skating skills was better than Yuzu's and Yuzu only gets that high a score because of his rep being the Olympic champion. So i understand why people cared to correct him. Someone on Twitter told Hanretty that Japanese fanyus are mad at him or something and Hanretty replied something along the lines of "Japanese don't like me because i didn't gush enough about Hanyu". That's when i cared. I replied to him "it's not only the Japanese fans and it's not because you didn't gush about Hanyu. Fans are not that shallow. We don't care if you don't praise Yuzu, but at least comment responsibly" or something along those lines. I at least made sure to be polite about it. He deleted his tweet. Was what i said "attacking" him? I'm genuinely curious to know this boundary between attacking and criticising because i wouldn't want to be seen as a crazy fanyu.

I aspire to be this level of fanyu: see a random diagram and still connect it to Yuzu. To be fair, I do see the resemblance.
