I think I was even worse than that... I have very vague memories of watching Sochi, it must have been the FS, and being annoyed with the commentators gushing about this Japanese kid, when the other Japanese skater was so much sexier and cooler. I never followed figure skating and then came LGC and H&L and hit me like bricks and changed my whole fandom profile. It's really so cool how some stuff takes its time to find you.

Yeah, @Hydroblade, I've been meaning to say since you started using it (a month ago?), it's soooo beautiful. So blessed, so moved, so grateful.

And yeah sure, there are probably TONS of skiers they want to support instead, but how will the sport grow in this cold, dark country with loads of rinks (but maybe not that many year-round ones?) if they don't support what they have?

I was looking forward to a season where I didn't have to worry about the SP. And his Loop is SO BEAUTIFUL. But he is the King of Extra(tm) and that's why I'm here and I guess I'll just stock up on the chocolate/cakes/alcohol. I'm so excited about the 4A tho.

Good morning! What a night! I woke up with Thoughts, so I'm just gonna go for it. 1) I think the FS's going to be interesting, with the knee, with Brian working so hard to lower expectations. 2) I also think it's really good practice for the season to get used to being in first place after the SP, and not the underdog. This is after all the level he is aspiring to with his consistency and "beyond the ideal". Hopefully he will keep his focus after the WR, but I'm thinking it's a work in progress and that's okay.
