    I read on twitter the song's underlying meaning is about not looking at/comparing yourself to others, but living in a way that is true to your own understanding of your own self worth - does that sound about right to you? It seems to fit with how Yuzuru might be feeling these days post-Beijing (post-the-last-4-years to be honest!)

    I watched on JapanTV from 8.30am (the recorded version!) - my alarm went at 5am but I just couldn't wake properly plus I still thought it might be Day 3 so motivation was low lol!  so it was great to see a different day! Yuzuru was fabulous I thought - so relaxed in the opening, great jump, great dancing, great audience interaction. I loved seeing the backstage stuff (I always want more though!! They have it, SHOW IT TO US PLEEEEASE!) Real Face - definite improvement from the first day, I really loved this performance, full of passion! His 3A was gorgeous!  I liked Yuzu's response to the "splashing water" question - yes Yuzu it WAS a thrilling moment :agree2: I love how Yuzuru seeks to thrill us! Yuzuru was also very enthusiastic in the closing number - really does give his full energy - plus some! Johnny/Yuzu interaction has been really lovely I think, I like seeing him and his easy manner with all the skaters - Javi and Yuzu too with a little bit for the photographer. From what Javi said in interview it seems that as far as Javi knows Yuzu is going to continue competing (not that I am suggesting Yuzu would take Javi into his confidence about this - once upon a time maybe, but now? Not sure). Fantastic 4T 3A!!

    Other programmes I loved today (skipped through a few I admit! The benefit of watching the recorded version!)- Deniss wow such a powerful expressive musical skate I really rate Deniss as one of my faves  he is wonderful to watch! Stephane of course (always mesmerising. especially the first skate I thought despite the small mistakes on jumps), Shizuka's first skate I adore it, her elegant style is perfect for that music, Nobu - kinky boots is amazing, Gabby and Guillaume's skate to Harumi's live performance....

     

    Thanks for all the posts on here too, it was great to see your views and the twitter and YT posts.

    Bring on Kobe!! Hope Yuzuru is resting well :)

    (Oh - One translation of his interview I saw said he was "tense daily" and that coming to perform was so wonderful, making it sound like he could relax by performing in front of an audience; and other interpreted the tense bit as "having the jitters" for todays performance - I hope he isn't tense daily!! :consoling2:)

Russian athletes on pedestals are not the priority I'm afraid.
