[2018] OG TE Ladies - SP & FS

In the ladies field-very little. It's all high TES, go clean or go home. And scary that TP is actually working today.

I had to watch while doing excels at work, but still:

1) I was worried that Mirai's 3A was UR since it looked a bit hooked. But guess she was within a quarter, so go Mirai! I hope she carries this through to the individual event and lands both 3A's clean, making history for US ladies. Let's not forget- we're talking about a female skater doing 3A's (and even learning them) past age 20.

2) Alina-her performance today was good, but still slightly tighter than her best at Rus Nats so far. The PCS is a bit high, I'm pretty sure dear judges that given her TES scores, a PCs of 68-70 should still see her quite tidely through the top 3. But still, nice performance, good job with controlling whatever nerves might exist at your first Olys outing.

3) I facepalmed when Kaori missed her 3Lz3T...eeks, but based on the protocols, well Japanese ladies will need to claw their way to even top 6. Ouch.

4) Kostner- um, someone recommend a nice light blue costume for her? I'm not sure if royal, dark plum purple brings up an image of the afternoon of a faun...

not really. Wakaba Mai or Kaori don't get these high PCS with clean and high TES. It's just Russian (GOE and PCS)/american (overlooking Mirai's UR)/canadian (giving Kaetlyn's combo) inflation over the top
