MrPudding
The actual tea. I kind of want new fans not to get too invested or not be a follower of figure skating (does this seems to harsh...) for the sake of their wellbeing but its not that easy.. I know.. we know.. Link to comment
GoldMedalist
The thing about his ankle... as if it would be a sign that he should retire. It's tragic, but maybe he will only skip worlds. In the end, he already won everything (ok, not Skate Canada ) and the competition is not going to be easier Link to comment
MrPudding
Although the edit is such a simple thing. This is like doing nothing but everything at the same time. I dont know why I put it in spoiler but Spoiler Link to comment
axelsandwich
Copied and pasted from my tweet thread about the topic (albeit slightly edited/rearranged) but I've seen quite a few people anxious on PH too so... my thoughts (esp after watching Yuzu's recent interviews - I speed-translated Matsuoka and Nobu's one here) I’ve seen a bit of panic around Yuzu’s injury & I just want to say that after listening to him talk, it’s not a question of IF he’s coming back but when. He still has skating goals & motivation but he’s very aware he came to this Olympics ‘borrowing’ future time. So he needs to heal first. Loss of competitive drive is what makes athletes retire & Yuzu has always been extraordinarily ‘thirsty’ as an athlete while also working harder than anyone out there. It’s what makes him a champion. Yes there will be a lessening of this now that he’s achieved his goal, which is inevitable and natural. I think the injury made him re-examine his ‘thirsts’, possibly made him realise some of them are superficial & can be thrown away (which was kind of what he was telling Matsuoka and Nobu). But there’s still stuff he wants to do & he loves the sport, so I don't think his motivation has gone down to zero, maybe he just has more simple/refined goals now. The part of me that dropped $$$ (and flew across the world lol) on Worlds is selfishly a little sad that maybe he won’t go but I truly believe he’ll return to competition at least for a few years (personally I doubt he's going for another Olympics but again, who knows). After Sochi he was frantic to prove himself but the nature of this victory was different, he's matured as a person and the injury seems to have made him change a lot of that 'do or die'/uncompromising-to-the-point-of-risking-his-health thinking that was so anxiety-inducing in the past (which underlay things like Boston/skating after the CoC accident). As someone who identifies with that perfectionistic/idealistic pitfall, I'm proud of him, I'm inspired by that. We just need to be patient and let him recover properly now, finally unburdened from this goal. He’ll be back and if the last 2 days are anything to go by, he may surprise us yet. Link to comment

It’s basically 95% fail investment in which there is no insurance at all. At least we all know he would go to PC. This 2nd OGM is his goal. However, now the only future point we know is Nessie and taming that lady is no insurance at all Link to comment
