I think 4A is allowed so long as it's in combination and you still do the solo 3A or 2A, but that would still be crazy. That's how Mao Asada used to include her 3A in the SP before it was allowed as the solo axel jump in the SP, she would do the solo 2A then a 3A2T combo and another solo triple.

I haven’t watched or listened to the TSL recap with Inman but from what I’ve heard he doesn’t seem to be over enthusiastic about Nathan on all accounts either. I did watch his first interview with TSL and he struck me as extremely old fashioned and stuck in his tastes. I imagine he’d tend to find classic warhorse music more interesting and can’t understand the appeal of a program like Seimei. I think he also studied music in college so has knowledge, but if he really said that about the Onmyouji music then he’s making a very broad generalization of the music, and of his fellow Westerners which goes to show how narrow minded he likely is.

Okay, I gotta ask. In the new Yuzu Days when Yuzu said he went down a waterfall at an amusement park when he was 2 or 3 years old, he meant on an amusement park ride, right (not that he "fell over")? I'm trying to think what ride would allow small 2-3 year olds to go down a major waterfall drop, usually those have height restrictions and I can't imagine a tiny 2-3 year old like Yuzu being tall enough! My initial thought was maybe he got onto Splash Mountain in Tokyo Disneyland.

I haven't tried it yet but I know a lot of Japanese sites only take full-width or half-width characters. Just google a full-width text generator and copy and paste the english text and it'll convert it over for you, it usually just makes it look fatter or skinnier.

Yep, ultimately I think he doesn't feel there's a need to get a custom suit as he probably feels what he already has is just fine. He has a unique figure which means the off-the-rack sizing probably doesn't quite fit all parts of his body. Although I'm not sure how often he re-wears the same suits. The Olympic ones I imagine he only wears during occasions related to the Olympics (press conference, parade, prime minister visit with other Olympic athletes). I think the suit he wore for the Emperor's Garden Party seemed to fit alright although I can't find a full body photo, I'm thinking that one may be a suit he personally bought and keeps in his closet for special occassions.

Take a look at his suit in the Kose interview. The shoulders look fine but his sleeves while sitting are extremely baggy. That’s a non-fitted suit. I think the reason we don’t see him in a well fitted suit is he doesn’t really have a need for it. Most of these suits are probably prepared by his sponsors in a short time frame so there isn’t a chance to tailor them. Aside from these public appearances the only time he may wear a suit is during a competition banquet and he may find its not worth bringing out his best suit for those.

I heard that as well but it’s odd. The one time I saw it appear I was on my iPhone, but not on the Line app. I actually opened the link in my Messenger app and it actually showed me the option to gift it for 244 yen vs 100 coins which is what I usually see. But I think once I tried to login to pay it never showed it again on my Messenger app browser no matter how I tried. I’ll have to see if I can try this on my Android device later and install the VPN on that. At least I know I was able to purchase it to one account, it’s just not the Line account I normally use.

Curious if anyone else had trouble getting the "send as gift" option to show up on Line for the stamps. I was able to purchase them with a VPN using my FB account thinking I could gift them to my main account, but I didn't see an option. At one point when I clicked the link I DID see an option in the store to send as a gift while I was on my phone, but each time after it keeps telling me to go to the Line store and the option isn't available to gift it.

Echoing what was said, back in 2013 the Japanese men's field was very deep. At the 2013 GPF, 3 of the 6 qualifiers in men's singles were Japanese and so was the first alternate (Oda). In 2012, 4 out of the 6 qualifiers were Japanese. Making the GPF and medaling plays a large part in the Japanese Federation selection process for Worlds and the Olympics. I think if Yuzu had been the only one of those 4 males to not make the GPF that year it definitely would've lessened his chances at making the Olympic team back in Sochi. Other than winning nationals, the second and third spots were mainly determined by a mix of standings at Japanese Nationals and qualifying/medaling at the GPF. Luckily Yuzu easily qualified for the first spot on the team by both winning the GPF and Nationals, even before Nationals his GPF win would've almost ensured him a spot on the team so long as he placed within top 6 at Nationals then. The criteria is different now, but the Japanese Federation usually puts more weight on GPF results in their selection criteria than other countries.

Yeah I thought that way too for GPF last year without Yuzu, I didn’t really attend practice yet still found myself short of time once competitions started! As for programs, I’m leaning more towards two new programs altogether, so I hope he can skate Origin the way he wants to in Saitama.

Yup there's lots to do in Vegas, but if you plan to see all events plus practice you can find your free time drying up real quick! Luckily there's almost always something open in Vegas no matter the hour, so if you still want to go and do some sightseeing or whatnot late night after the competitions it's a definite possibility. I doubt Yuzu will get assigned to Skate America (I'll always kick myself that I missed his own appearance at Skate America in Washington in 2012, it was before my time as a fan), but a girl can dream. The western north America comps are just so much easier to travel to for me, and Vegas is only about a 1 hour flight for me.

It is OT but Shoma is going to be at 4CC. There are even social media pics of him in Los Angeles, he seems to have been there for a couple of days already.
