And here's the really weird thing: According to the Twitter account posting the translations, it was from various J twitter interviews. But! When I went into #羽生結弦 hashtag just now, all I see is congratulatory messages and spam using his name as a hook. If there was anything about him retiring soon there should be a wave of panic in the J tweets too... which I'm simply not seeing. Or maybe I've been looking at the wrong hashtag?? We will know soon enough though. And my point about Yuzu taking some rest and rehabilitate his ankle still stands.

Came by still basking in the afterglow of Yuzu's second OGM only to see various interviews where he is expressing doubt about his condition... First of all, that makes me appreciate SEIMEI a LOT more (as if I didn't appreciate it to begin with). Second, as much as I felt touched by Yuzu's tears of joy and relief after he won the gold, I didn't want to cry then. But now I want to cry At the same time I want to believe that Yuzu would be getting his ankle checked out, take a good break from training (he more than deserved it), see the cherry blossoms with the Emperor and Empress with Shoma in tow--and start off a new era in his career after getting proper treatment...

Also, on Yuzu not doing the Team Event: While I'm partly concerned about whether that means he isn't in competition shape, I can also see the arguments for not doing the Team Event even if he IS in competition shape because of potential pressure if he does well / negative momentum if he doesn't. Plus Sportymags' note on the flu spreading at the athletes' village... that would be something Yuzu would best to avoid--especially because he missed the 2016 nationals due to catching the flu. So for now, all we can do is wait and have faith. がんばれ、ゆづ！

I would be very curious to see if Yuzu did figures under Nanami-sensei, and did he do them under Brian...?

Although I'm thinking, from the memories of all the high school anime I've watched: They have swimming lessons in gym class, right? Did Yuzu get exempted from those in high school or did he have to suck it up and swim (albeit in shallow water) anyways? (Also, if my memory serves me correctly, the TCC has a pool.)
