  1. Takes some guts to come to Worlds with no quads and no 3A, these days. Hats off to him
  2. The CBC stream just randomly cut to the women's replay for 5 seconds and cut back... ugh, I'm so annoyed I can't just watch this on YouTube
  3. Gorodnitsky is such a meh skater for me. He's got decent technique and is reliably consistent... but his performance is just always very average. Not bad, but never stands out.
  4. I felt like he was in over his head, being at Worlds. It was that kind of performance
  5. Did you watch Torgashev's skate? Ooh, that Polish skater - Samoilov - that fall sounded like it hurt.
  6. Oh, somehow I missed that news. Here's hoping he comes back even better than before.
  7. Yeah, seems like it. I feel bad for Conrad. From the look on his face, he was SO ready...but it's really unlikely that six more skaters will do worse than him and push him into the top 24
  8. Ahh poop... Conrad did his best but it looks like he can't catch a break... popped the quad toe...
  9. Congratulations Riku and Ryuichi! Is anyone watching men? Conrad's in the first group and the commentator ( is it Chris? Or Mark? Not sure) has told a rather gruesome tale of how his last couple weeks went - apparently both a broken boot, and a broken blade, at separate times. But he's looking good in the warm up, so fingers crossed!
  10. I did go and watch RikuRyu's SP. Absolutely wonderful, just as they've been all season. I can't help but hope that Yuzu was watching that - they're so good! I'm sure he'd love it.
  11. Tell me about it. At this rste I'm not even going to bother watching, although I'm very excited for the two Canadian pairs being in top 6 after the short, and all 3 in the top 10!
  12. Just FYI, the ISU has geoblocked their YouTube Worlds feed in Canada. CBC Sports has it: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/winter/figure-skating/live-stream-isu-world-figure-skating-championships-2023-1.6783937 The last few times I've tried to watch figure skating using the CBC Sports site, the stream has been bloody awful and unreliable af, so be warned.
  13. Thanks for sharing this, I was beginning to wonder if I'll ever see my order...
  14. Happy Pi Day everyone! (3.14) Does Yuzu eat 🥧, I wonder? Technically gyoza could be considered a type of very small pi, I guess
  15. Is this the first time Yuzu's ever invited the rest of the cast of a show to join him for his 'Arigato' ?
  16. Umm.... ...I have no words. It's nice to find out that Sir Elton likes figure skating, though.
  17. Ah but that's what youth is for! Life would be so dull without a few good crushes. As for me, Yuzu piqued my interest 2 or 3 times before I finally fell in deep with him for good... but his good looks only dawned on me gradually. At first I was just wondering why Brian was coaching him at Sochi. Then the cheekiness of Parisienne Walkways made me smile. Aftet that, Yuzu channelled Prince for LGC and I couldn't get over it. Then came his tremendously perfect skate of H&L at World 2017 and by then I was well and truly hooked. But I think the first time Yuzu's looks truly took my breath away was Origin 1.0 - he was just stunning in that.
  18. No worries! They're not for everyone, but also, one thing I've noticed about BTS - they (and their music) tend to come in to people's lives only at the right time. Maybe now's not the time for you, or maybe Dynamite's not the song, and that's perfectly fine. If things change, they'll be here waiting.. 💜
  19. This article came out during the Beijing Olympics, but somehow I missed it. Did anyone else know about it? B/C i did not. Everyone loves Yuzu. https://www.koreaboo.com/lists/yuzuru-hanyu-kpop-armys-fandoms-like-gold-medals/
  20. The way that whole entire crew of supremely talented skaters ( + Kohei!) were all standing there, like "Choreo? What choreo? All I know is watching Yuzu?" while he did all 7 BTS members' dance parts by himself, though... Yuzu, you're a legend! Never change 💜
  21. Who wouldn't? As long as your camera is fast enough to capture him, Yuzu's the perfect subject!
  22. I'm so pleased that the photographer uncles are giving us so much gorgeous photographs of these shows. As much as I want to see the show in full, seeing it through still photography adds another dimension. I want to comment about the 3.11 show but none of the words I have are adequate to express what I am thinking after reading the translations of Yuzu's speech and seeing those photos. My heart truly, deeply goes out to him, and to everyone affected by the 3.11 tragedy, that's all.
