You would think. I know she's a minor and people don't want to be mean to a "kid" (imo she's old enough to know better) but she shouldn't have euros, or OG team gold, or the record for first quad by a woman at OG. If she was doping in Dec she shouldn't have been at any of these comps.

And the incredibly stupid thing is she probably could have accomplished this without the drugs but now no one will ever know what could have been. It was just so, so dumb. smh

I don't think we can definitively say she would have been able to accomplish those things without drugs. The whole reason drugs are banned is because they let you perform at a level that you were not otherwise capable.

Also, I really hate that Eteri for a quite some time avoid any contact with non-russian media (exept of blind ass-lickers), while her "kids" to have face them and answer all the questions she cannot be asked because she doesn't want to take it on her arms, despite being the creator of the mess.

the actual people who should be forced to face the media never do. there should be a judges press con too, goodness knows they need to be subject to public questioning

I hope journalists harass Eteri with questions

How many time has Evgenia competed against Rika? Twice, yes? Which she lost the first one and won in the second one. In both cases, Evgenia was overscored, albeit the second one was more horrible than the first, which was why Rika lost her medal at her first Worlds. Did she still get the boost despite not being under Eteri? Yes. Did she dope under Orser? We don't know.

Pro-Russian favoritism is horrible to many. Rika is one of them, Ekaterina is one of them, and there are many more.

She has gotten many of her injuries trying to chase the Russians (re: the quads), yes, but she might have gotten some of her injuries doing the elements she normally does, too.

I'm not accusing Evgenia of doping under Orser, you've missed my point. My point was that the benefits of doping under Eteri carried over because it means she still had all that extra practice time under her belt, as well as reputation which we know is a huge part of scoring. Therefore even if she stopped taking the drugs under Orser, her results cannot be considered fair, as she's still reaping the benefits of doping earlier on.

Okay? I never said Rika was the only victim of pro-Russian favoritism and Russian doping, just that she is the biggest victim because they robbed her of multiple important victories. Also, why the focus on only Evgenia? I mean Sasha, Anna, and Aliona too. If they're all doping, then Rika is the rightful winner of 2019 GPF, for example.

So what if she could have been injured doing normal elements? Why does that mean it is therefore invalid to attribute injuries to training quads? Does the fact that Yuzuru could have sprained his ankle doing a 3F mean that we can't attribute his 2017-2018 sprain to training 4Lz?

Wow, ooookay, teen drama to the max. I would like a subbed video of the mentioned statements to get a better understanding and the whole context of it. At the moment I'm not sure what is right and not from these snippets......

Did Sasha really expect to get gold? I mean, she must have known that even skating 100% clean, a clean Kami would still have taken gold, she had quite some points adventage from the short, right?

I have a huge respect for her showing the jumps she did (not talking about clean or not), but gold?????

I think it's a bit dismissive just to call this teen drama. They're in an abusive training environment, and under a massive amount of stress to deliver.

Anna is more polished than Trusova, but is she 3 quads more polished? Considering how people talk about how Nathan deserves to go above Yuzuru because Nathan does one more quad (while doing one less 3A, mind you), is it really surprising she thinks that doing 3 more quads than her competition should be enough to cinch it for her? If you were to look at the men's results and you were Sasha, you would come to that conclusion too. Why should it be different for her? It's not like Anna is even close to being Yuzuru. (I'm not, by the way, suggesting that this is the right way to think, but it is an understandable thing to think.)

I agree that had Evgenias Lutz was called, Rika would have been on the podium in WC 2019 but to say Evgenia might have doped back then is a bit of a reach, no? Also, I don't think she is the biggest victim of pro-Russian favoritism but to each their own.

Re: Beijing, that she didn't get to go to Beijing was a mix of many unfortunate things.

Training quads might have brought her injuries, but would you say she would remain completely healthy drilling 3As and triple combos? For all we know, she might have that one horrible fall on one of those triples, one mis-step in one of those trainings. Exactly what cumulated in her not being able to join the Olys, only she knows.

Why is it a reach? Evgenia was Team Tut, and she deteriorated rapidly after leaving. Sounds to me like she might have been doped too. And if she had been doping to train more, then that means that pretty much all her results are tainted, because she would never have gotten to that level in the first place if it wasn't for doping.

Who is the biggest victim of pro-Russian favoritism then? Who has lost to the Russians over and over again this past quad while also beating everyone else?

Are you seriously trying to suggest to me that Rika's injuries have nothing to do with chasing the Russians? Why are you trying to undermine how much her career has been damaged by Eteri's cheating?

I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I think in that camp, likely every skater is doped. And that has probably been the case for quite a couple of years.

Yeah, I guess my point is, if it just so happens to be true that she's not doping, then it's understandable that she's furious. Although it's just as likely that she simply thought she should win because she landed the quads. Unfortunately the Nathan Chen route doesn't work when you're up against someone with equal or more fed backing, Sasha.

Is she tho? THE real victim? It is very unfortunate that she got sidelined in the worse possible year, but honestly every single girl is a victim in this terrible system in their own way.

Also, the past four years have been when she stepped it up, Kaori fell behind and when she was down behind, Kaori stepped it up. IMO they are both aces of Japan.

I mean, obviously she's not the only victim, but she is possibly the biggest victim of doping and pro-Russian favoritism. If you eliminate the Team Tut skaters from the 2019 worlds podium she would have been first (I guess Medvedeva was technically with Orser at that point but it doesn't erase any doping she might have received to help her train up to that point, and her lutz edge went uncalled anyway which would have made a difference). She's probably the one who's been most robbed of titles by Team Tut's cheating.

She also hurt herself trying to chase the Russians and didn't have the opportunity to go to the Olympics.

Another great point from two women commentating for PL Eurosport (after Sasha's skate): "Technically that was insane, but in terms of components, she was nowhere near Wakaba or Loena. I wish one day we will have a skater that can do both Ultra-C hardest elements and the greates artistry". The second: "Yuzuru Hanyu". The firsrt: "Yes, we have one <laughing> but not yet in women field". (nothing about Nathan Chen). They did a great job overall.

    good commentator

TBH, while I can't say I like Anna's skating, and everyone in her team is probably suspect, I have to say I'm really impressed with how she always brings it together at comps. Like, how??? Her practices were so bad. OGM though...

Yay to Kaori for a bronze medal!!! She gets her podium moment too! :loveshower:

Kamila... well... have to say I do feel bad for her.

I mean, people have had their suspicions about that for a long time
