The cover says that there will be photos from Makuhari & Niigata in it, so that means Kobe photos won't be included and are most likely exclusive for the (very expensive) FaOI official photo book. If that's true, it could explain the Great Kobe Draught of Any Image AT ALL.

On a brighter note, it could also mean that the draught won't continue to Niigata. Fingers crossed for the flow of photos & videos to resume its natural course!:snonegai:

Great finding! I didn't pay attention to "Niigata" on cover.

Fan Express relies solely on photo agencies like Aflo, so if it announces Makuhari AND Kobe, this means there'd be photographers from such agencies in Niigata.

On the other hand some twitter report from Friday Kobe show mentioned that there were no photographers - so only photos will be made by those 3 photographers, whose photos will be used for photobook.

  2. Communication No. 2097 Decisions of the ISU Council http://static.isu.org/media/525122/2097-decisions-of-the-isu-council-amsterdam.pdf

The most interesting part is this.

"The Council determined the Minimum Elements scores for the ISU Championships 2018 and Olympic Winter Games 2018 as follows:

ISU European, ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2018 and Olympic Winter Games 2018:

    SP/SD         FS/FD

    MEN 25.00 45.00

    LADIES 20.00 36.00

    PAIR SKATING 20.00 36.00

    ICE DANCE 19.00 29.00

ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2018:

    SP/SD        FS/FD

    MEN 34.00 64.00

    LADIES 27.00 47.00

    PAIR SKATING 25.00 43.00

    ICE DANCE 29.00 39.00

ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2018:

    SP/SD      FS/FD

    MEN 20.00 42.00

    LADIES 20.00 35.00

    PAIR SKATING 20.00 30.00

    ICE DANCE 18.00 28.00

The required Minimum Total Elements Score for the Short Program/Short Dance and the Free Skating/Free Dance to participate in Senior ISU Championships (ISU European Figure Skating Championships, ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and ISU World Figure Skating Championships) and the Olympic Winter Games 2018 can only be obtained in Senior International Competitions. Likewise, the required Minimum Total Elements Scores for the Short Program/Short Dance and the Free Skating/Free Dance segment to participate in the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships can only be obtained in International Junior Competitions.

The Council also decided that the Minimum Total Elements Score must be reached 21 (twenty-one) days before the first day (First official practice day) of the Championships concerned (same as entry deadline) or by the entry deadline for the Olympic Winter Games.

The Council agreed that if it became evident that the number of entries based on the Minimum Total Elements Scores listed above would be significantly higher or lower than expected, the ISU Council reserves the right to subsequently slightly re-adjust the Minimum Total Elements Scores in order to achieve the above-mentioned objective."

So they didn't change minimum TES comparing with previous season (http://static.isu.org/media/342540/2017-decisions-of-isu-council-dubrovnik.pdf)

Will the ABC broadcast be the same or will it show different camerawork/a different day?

In 2015 it was from the same day but with edited with some other angles

    SEIMEI comparison video

(almost identical, besides ABC had problem with audio sync)

    Requiem

    (difference is more substantial)

thats not too bad then, about 45minutes travel?

I think so... looking at google maps distance between ice arena and Olympic stadium is about the same with distance between ice arena and official hotel of 4CC, and 4CC site noted that travel time is 40 minutes IIRR

Fuji aired FaOI Sapporo last year and FaOI Toyama in 2014. I suspect it’s a venue that makes it difficult for them to film and air the show, because Toki Messe is small and the layout of ice rink and spectators’ seats is very different from other FaOI venues. Fuji aired Dreams on Ice 2016 held in different venue in Niigata area, so if it’s possible they would air FaOI Niigata too…

DOI last year was in Aore Nagaoka, right?

They didn't air ice show from the same venue in 2015...

Guys, we will have NO video of Niigata at all? NONE? Even just after several months, will they release any videos at all?

Maybe some bits of news from rehearsals and then little tidbits from show...

Videos from FaOI Niigata in 2014, I think that's all we've got that time:

Btw Yuzu performed Chopin that time too.
