And I loved Mai's 3S.

So, this is the classy (and badass) way to react to not being part of the Olympics team: you don't complain over the inevitable fact that not everyone can go, skate your heart out and give a stunning performance like this on what might not be 'the' tournament of the year, but still means more and more in the figure skate world.

Let's see if she makes me cry again

Kaori is on a roll! Who would have thought she'd be going to the Olympics only a few months ago? And then she skates like this. Loved it.

Like het program too!

Do any of you have anything fun or interesting you recently learned?
積ん読 (つんどく): not reading a book after buying it. Am guilty of that, haha. Love they have a specific word for it

Anna's short, ! edge call, 63.33, first place
Great to see her back on the ice. Had been looking forward to her skating in the JGP this season, but her injury prevented it.
Well, she will have all the opportunity to shine next season. This season the JGP final ladies was probably my favourite competition. Can't imagine what it will be like next year with Anna in the mix.

Great job, Gabby!
Didn't expect that she would win, but it's a nice surprise.

I guess Ross will be going to 4CC then. None of the Olympic ladies are going, so I guess it's the same for men. He deserves something at least.

> The Russianization of American women’s figure skating
wow
> More mature skaters like Wagner and Gracie Gold – who bring the total package that the sport of figure skating used to reward, but doesn’t seem to care about anymore -- have found themselves falling behind these women the past few years.
Yes, because Gracie's downfall was because figure skating wasn't rewarding her "total package," and not because she fell/popped at every major competition, sometimes multiple times.
ILY Gracie but. What.
Bit sick of all the complaining about the Russians.
They're simply better at this point and have a coach that is an absolute wonder in bringing out technical strength. Instead of all the complaining about them, other countries should look what they should do to compete.
And the complaining about Wagner not going...well, she's gone before when she probably shouldn't have, so frankly she's about the last who should cry 'unfair' about this.

I think some of the animosity towards Bradie from non-Americans is due to the positive impact she could have on the Team event for the US. I'm already hearing people say they want to see her skate BOTH events because Mirai and Karen are so unreliable.
You really think that? Wow. I must say I have barely thought of the chances of the US in the team event.
The individual competitions are what counts for me, and I see the Team Event mostly as a dangerous hurdle for the skaters that I wish could have been done after the individual event.
I'll still watch because I'm hypocritical like that, but it's going to be with mixed feelings.

Disappointed in Ashley Wagner. It's not like she skated like Medvedeva and then got put in fourth place or anything.
She's had a break last Olympics, so she's one of the very last skaters who deserves to complain about anything in or outside the US.
She uses her only skating a new program for a month as an argument why she did better than expected, but nobody told her to only skate that program so late in the season.
I always liked her, but this is too much sore loser to me. I'll probably go back to liking her in a day or two, but for now

I should go back to sleep, but I like hanging out here

Okay, Mirai should have won this.
-
Well done, Bradie!
-
Glad she's second.
Hope Mirai, Karen and Bradie will go.
