  1. This page is written by Hana, in charge of the website of "Ashita e tsunageyou" project of NHK. It seems that there will be a second video of "Hana wa saku - Pyeongchang ver." (the first was released on the end of March) that will be aired by the end of June and will feature Yuzu among the other Olympians+Paraolymipians. In the comic strip she apologize to have messed up the photo moment but reassures everyone that the video was taken in 4K, that the making process has been filmed and that we should look forward to the special interview. In the footer comments she says that Yuzu was so cool (kakkoii) and that also the composer said repeatedly "sugoi" (wow). Sorry I'm a bit lazy to translate everything and I actually haven't followed the site recently (and never been able to catch up) so I don't even know if the first Hana wa Saku with the medalists has been discussed or if we have the video somewhere? (again, I am too lazy now to do proper research )
  2. It basically says that single-fold eyelids are an evolution of the double eyelids occured in order to survive the Ice age. Also the eyelashes that lean down are to protect the eyes from the cold air (they work like blinds). The conclusion is that Yuzu fits perfectly in this definition of evolved form of human being
  3. ETA to not double post After Sendai and until August, they are planning to display the boots in places such as Sapporo, Kanto region, Nagoya, Osaka, Hakata with an exhibit caravan. End of August they plan to display them in the area for which they receive the most requests.
  4. Names in Japanese (in general, like first names, last names, places) are so difficult to know how to read, they often do not follow "normal" rules and can be quite creative (you could never guess some of those). Even though there are a lot of them that are quite obvious and common, sometimes you can really be surprised. Typically, all paper work comes with two rows for names : one for your kanji name and one for the reading. And names of places (like in stations) are often written with furigana so you're sure how to read them. I read on twitter that staff said there were around 6000 visitors from opening til the afternoon. The line went from the 8th floor to the 1st then again til the 6th floor... I felt 2-3h wasn't so long when you know the Japanese standards so I went to check on some blogs/tweets. Seems an average of 5h total to queue to get in + queue to go in the goods sales + queue for the cashier was quite a standard (add to that the time to queue for the exhibition, which seemed more feasible in the afternoon)
  5. I think I have heard him use 'ore' recently, but only when he's around people he's comfortable with like Nobu or Shouma. I think that's his natural way of speaking, where as 'media Yuzu' is a side of him that he developed over time. Iirc, in one of the interviews post medal ceremony (still in PC) together with Shoma, you can hear he speaks with "boku" to the interviewer then at a moment he talks to Shoma saying "ore". So he clearly switches following to the situation in which he is. I think it was even discussed on jp media about viewers finding that so cute of him. ETA: should be in "going" and the article (well, mostly transcriptions of small bits of the interview) is Here (sorry is in Japanese), it talks also about how they call each other.
  6. I just was thinking at the exact same thing! But then was doubting as no one had came up with this
  7. The official site says that the pictures are for illustration purpose so I guess there is always hope for more names
  8. If only. Those t-shirts are beautiful. I totally agree. Would buy these without hesitation
  9. I don't need a T-shirt... Why am I starting to want two T-shirts
  10. I'm on my phone so I haven't managed to see the flags yet but I'm looking forward to see all the countries around I was wondering if will we be able to put more than one? I could imagine I'm not the only one with a not so linear background that makes answering the question "where do you come from" quite complicated Or is it conceived more as a "where do you live now"?
  11. Not sure if it has been discussed already here (sorry if it's the case) but I've watched Wakaba's WC SP on ESP.ITA and Max&Angelo said there are increasing rumors that she could move to Toronto to be with borser. I don't have more info than this but thought to share with you all.
