I see a lot of comments about his style. Saying is copying weir and should find his style. Isn’t this Yuzu style though? All the wispy fabric and sparkles and flair ?

    Tbh, I just laugh.

It is just total nonsense so it makes me giggle.

Oh, and I think I've seen practice clip of Artur Dmitriev's 4A that's not as bad as the one in competition? I don't remember where I saw it tbh I think it was when I was stumbling through a Russian forum, no I don't understand Russian. Not rotated but not as badly UR as that one in competition. There's definitely never been a clip of him fully rotating it, it would've made it out onto English forums for sure. But he is further along on it than that competition clip shows. I think he's been working on it for years.

Yup there is at least one, if not two, where it's a UR but not a DG as it was in that one competition (am so sorry but am totally done in to go looking for it now). He did get better over time and yes, he has been working on it for years, 3 at least if not 4.

Still, if you cannot rotate it in practice then forget about competitions. I am actually slightly puzzled as to why they're pushing so much but I suppose he wants to take every opportunity he has to try it, knowing Zu's also gunning for it.

While we understand that sometimes there are truly unfortunate things being posted about Yuzuru that are hurtful and that we wish we could erase, the fact of the matter is that we here can only influence our own little world, and choose the way we conduct ourselves here. There is nothing we can do about things happening on the outside but we can do about things here. Yuzuru skates, and will continue to skate, with others from many different countries, and there are bad apples everywhere.

We'd like to please ask you not to post generalizations or slights about fans based on nationality. It is not acceptable.

Also, while we do understand that those hurtful things posted about Yuzuru are upsetting, we here cannot do much, if anything about it. Bringing them over here will just further upset everyone.

One of the principal reasons Planet was created was to give us this (not so) little oasis in the skating world but we should all then be able to enjoy it, regardless of where we come from. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular just please have a care with your words, they can be hurtful even if at the moment you may not mean to do so.

    Thank you very much! :10742289:

That leaves 4CC, Worlds, and WTT. Debuting at Worlds would be unlikely which leaves 4CC or WTT, doesn’t it?

Yup. Trying for the first time at Worlds is a no-go which means 4CC or WTT. We don't even know if he'll go to 4CC though tbh, I expect so. He might try there but then WTT is really without any stress so that might be the best. But who knows with him.

Hands off the Sakura, I love every bit of it... chest hair, trash bag sleeves - everything. If he brings that, I’ll die a happy woman.

As long as he keeps that program as his EX I will take 10 chest hair costumes.

Guh it is so amazing and should be seen on the big stage.

As much as i love the sakura faerie, PLEASE GET RID OF THE TRASHBAGS SLEEVES, ZU.

Seriously, if he isn't wearing trashbag pants then trashbag sleeves?

He'll go hmmm now, and wear both at the same time just for our complete enjoyment :68468287:

(I'm sorry! And yes it is, which is why it is that much worse somehow? Guh)

    @sweetwater

Ahh thank you, thank you, I will try. I don't have much hope as my brain is wired that way but it won't hurt to try!

    Chest hair? There is?

See the black, at the bottom of the V, in the front there? So it's not actual chest hair, but one of my friends said it reminded her of it, and now all I see is chest hair. Sigh.

LOL, I didn't even realize there is a "chest hair". :rofl3:

But I don't mind. At least it doesn't go hanging like that "belly hair" Kazuki Tomono had at Skate Canada SP. That was quite disturbing...

A friend of mine called it 'chest hair' and that was it. Costume ruined for all time. I just cannot get past it since then

Uh, yes, well. Best not to talk about that one :slinkaway:

Dmitriev said he's gonna attempt 4A at Rostelecom. The heat is on! Prepare yourselves, Helsinki-goers!

Unless something has drastically changed, he's not really close to a fully rotated jump but even like that, major props for going for it.

We'll see if it gets Zu to go hmmm. Don't think so really, I think he'll stick to whatever plan he has right now.

Helsinki will be my first time to see him live -- which seems surreal enough. The thought that he might bring Nessie ... *trembles, whimpers, starts to hyperventilate*

    Just deep breaths.

    ____________

Tbh, the more time passes the less sure I am he'll try it at Helsinki. Somehow I think it'll be CoR, if indeed he wants to do it during the GP season.

From my experience among my friends if the mother is the person who is living in a foreign environment the children will be bi lingual- if it’s the dad it’s not happened among my acquaintance ( French, Spanish, Maltese) - and those examples are a lot less difficult in terms of the gulf between the languages than an English/ Japanese interface.

Yes, same here but I somehow always end up being surprised, as you'd think it is such a fab opportunity for a kid.

Anyway, I went and poked around now and it really does not appear she grew up bi-lingual. She uses an interpreter for interviews and not a single record of her talking in English, even to fans.
That won't make things easy with the new coach.

Hongo to McLeod? Did NOT see that coming..... Kevin speaks Japanese so that should help...does she speak english?

Huh, that is ... odd. Am not sure that'll help unfortunately but best of luck to her.

Her father is British so I'd say the answer to that question is yes.
