  1. Whoops, typo! I'm almost at Tissue Box.
  2. Was it though? I thought the one he wore at Cup of Disaster was a placeholder for the later costume. Wasn't the CoD costume basically a retrofitted version of an costume from another skater?
  3. I never quite got the costume in how it related to Phantom exactly, but it's still on of my favorite of his competitive costumes. And I appreciate the non-traditional take. (How long before I graduate from Mushroom? )
  4. Fey as a term derives form Fae or Fairies. So there is an association with folk lore of supernatural, mystical creatures and powers. A lot of fantasy stories use it in that context. But in a modern, Western, context calling someone "fey" implies their behavior is overtly both feminine and stereotypically gay. I would say generally this gets used as a negative term by people who are hostile to or uncomfortable with the LGBTQ community, especially with men whose gender expression is too feminine for their comfort. If someone from the LGBTQ community were to describe themselves as "fey" it's one thing, but I would be careful about using that term to describe Yuzu's performance or to describe the general behavior of any individual as it's a term that has a potentially insulting connotation.
  5. I'll admit I wasn't paying close attention to men's skating at the time, but I don't think that's totally accurate. Sure, Javi had more quads, but he was only just becoming a name internationally at the same time Yuzu was and had only been training with Brian for one year. Javi did get bronze at GPF in 2011-12 season, but Yuzu won a bronze at Worlds that season. So I'd say their level was about equal, with possibly Yuzu having the more promising reputation (at least that's the impression I get from what I've read/seen). Those Stay Gold posters just make me think of The Outsiders. I wonder if that book was popular in Japan.
  6. Stephen competed at the Senior level at Canadian Nationals this year. If you watch his FS he tried the 4Lz, but I think he popped it, then he threw a triple Axel in at the end of the program. I wonder who he got that idea from...
  7. Yup. Or... something about that. This seems to be his new thing?
  8. The whole "what if" conversation is silly. You could play that game forever and completely rewrite the history of figure skating. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. This makes me more nervous than the talk of quints.
  10. Thank god he finally got a drink of water! Why do I stan someone who talks so much?
  11. Did he just say if he goes to Beijing he'll win?
  12. I only caught a bit of it but I think he basically said he could only do his best and not worry about what others were doing. (Though he said a lot more I didn't get.)
  13. I don't understand much. He was talking about his hobbys (manga, anime gaming). That's all I caught.
  14. I hope so! I just caught the end of it and when it ended and I tried to rewind the stream it said there was nothing there. Hope someone will post it!
  15. My favorite murderface moment was at the end of his SP at GPF 2015 when you could see he almost made the murderface and then actively controlled it.
  16. It's really great to see him so relaxed and happy, but I'm not ruling out the return of the murderface.
  17. Nope, you were right the first time, total score does count. Look at Evgenia's best total.
  18. Wow, you're right! I confirmed by looking at Ladies. The scores they gave Evgenia there were ridic, considering those weren't even her best performances of those programs. I guess a judging panel is a good mood is worth a lot. (See also Barcelona GPF 2015.)
  19. Debatable whether Shoma's WTT total score should be on that list, since it's not counted towards records/PB by the ISU. Love the new design!
  20. I used to think this too, but turns out there were two other men before Dick Button to win multiple Olympic Gold (one of them three times). Dick Button was the last to do it, so you might say no one has done it in the modern era.
