With the stupid eticket app requirement, I'm not sure I can go even if I win the lottery. The individual who kindly lent me her number lives in Hiroshima. How the heck am I going to get the phone or sim card from her?! The system is so ridiculously rigid. They really do their best to exclude foreigners.

You definitely need a local mobile number and address (in Japanese characters) but not necessarily a locally issued credit card. I just went through the lottery application myself so I'm speaking from real experience.

I was told the friend's friend is a single mother working in a restaurant supporting three kids so I really shouldn't bother her with such a luxury matter as ticket to an ice show so I didn't dare to ask for her address in Japanese character. Please don't tell me after all this I still won't be eligible for the lottery!

I was finally able to get the lottery application in using JP mobile number / address but overseas credit card -- after struggling for most of the afternoon. Now fellow satellites please wish me good luck to hit the Tokyo Dome jackpot!!!

Does anyone know how to make the "selection" button work? I selected the type and number of ticket I wanted to buy but the button remains gray :-) Is it because the system could detect the IP address is outside Japan? Edit: Or could the site be crashed already due to the extreme large volume of requests :-(
