  1. So I was watching TSL (yes, I know they are terrible) but Dave was insinuating that Yuzu “chose” Ghislain over Brian to come as a coach. Is this true? I thought Brian had a prior commitment so Ghislain came instead. If he did chose him over Brian, I do find that concerning. also, I got really mad at Jonathan for implying that Yuzu sat alone so he could make an excuse as to why he did bad. Yuzu never makes excuses for his performance, if anything, he blames himself too much.
  2. This is the 8th senior GPF that Yuzu has qualified for! The only other skaters I can think of that did that much are Mao, Plushenko, Dai and V/M!
  3. Honestly, that would be stupid of JSF if they want the highest chance of both men going to GPF. They probably would place Shoma in the same events as Vincent.
  4. I'm kind of curious. Would Brian be going with Yuzu to nationals (if he compete)? Or will he go with Zhenya?
  5. Due to the rule change with having a 2/1 layout of the jumping passes, he probably realized that the 1.1 bonus on a poorly done combo isn’t worth the well done combo with +4 or 5. It makes sense.
  6. I can laugh about this now during off-season, but it's really a killer during competitions...
  7. It dawned on me that Yuzu could possibly win his first gp assignment...Finland has always been nice to Yuzu :)
  8. I’m pretty sure it was from a quiz show called time shock. The contestants are timed to get a certain amount correct and if they fail the chair spins.
  9. I just read about the rule changes from the ISU about backloading. I know Yuzu keeps pretty consistent and balanced programs but he does have a 3-5 just ratio. Since the jumps are being cut from 8 to 7, do you guys think he will go for a 3-4 or 4-3 (with 3 combos in the second half)? Also, do you guys think he will go back to the 2 quads in the front and 3A in the second half for the short?
  10. Wow with Jin, Med, and maybe Wakaba...TCC and Yuzu will have plenty of company
  11. As much as I love Yuzu, Japan has quite a few very well decorated and veteran Olympians from the Summer Games like Yoshida Saori. I’m sure he might carry the torch to the arena but I honestly doubt he would light it at 2020
  12. They are showing his 2010-2011 FS now EDIT: OMG when his SB used to be 138 pts...
  13. I think he may be aware of Russia and China, but not sure about others. But then again he is very perceptive
  14. I hope all the fans who were planning to go for Yuzu throws their Pooh’s for Boyang since he wanted one
  15. Relearn? We basically had an off season from nov-Jan we still have a parade to look forward too! Yuzu you should come come to Hawaii...totally not because I’m from there
  16. I’ll be honest, I’m sort of sad that we won’t hear “reigning world and Olympic champ” next season, but I’m just glad that there will be a next season
  17. The injury wasn’t as bad as I was expecting so this is good news! Rest well Yuzu! But OT, we might get our first full quadster podium at worlds
  18. I just realized something today. Yuzu is the only skater who reached 100 points in the short without 2 quads. Wow
  19. It really says how famous you are when you have 4 other gold medalist, 3 individuals of which won multiple medals and still almost all the questions go to Yuzu not to make light of anyone’s accomplishments tho, Japan really did amazing this year at PyeongChang!!! Congrats to everyone! Did they ask Yuzu if he wanted to be Captain next year after Kodaira?
  20. can anyone translate what yulia said here?
  21. periscope of practice LIVE NOW: https://www.pscp.tv/w/1djxXMgqBZXKZ?channel=sports
  22. I'm not fluent in Japanese, but I always got the perception that Japanese media (at least on TV/News) were always gracious of him. Like morning news shows and TV programs would always describe him as a god or prince. Even when he has a bad outing, they typically show support and compliment his good jumps and how he will do better at the next comp. Especially Kiritoru which has done a good job at catching all his polite moments. Is it just the newspapers that bad mouth him? But I do get the feeling sometimes that they are making way for Shoma to take over when Yuzu decides to leave. Kind of like what Yuzu had to go through with Daichan. But tbh, next to Mao (in FS), I don't think Japan will get another star as famous and popular, both in Japan and worldwide as Yuzu for awhile
