When you think you already know everything. These details are really impressive! I knew that Yuzu ran out of the rink with his skating boots on and that his family spent some days in a shelter. However, reading that the boots were damaged and the home was destroyed is something different! Same with the details about his sister: So she taught him how to jump? Also I had always been wondering how Yuzu perceived his mom being around, leaving his dad and sister behind. So there was a very simple (and sad) reason why she had to stop making his costumes.

It is still sinking in, it takes time. I had felt lucky with so many European venues (like other European fanyus), and having read now that Finland is Yuzu's favourite country, I think he really might have wanted to compete in Espoo. I had never been to Finland before Helsinki GP but somehow my family immediately felt very much at home there without knowing why and we started going there more often. (We happened to be in Espoo when this info came.) Knowing we have something in common with Yuzu in this respect gives me some peace.

What was happening there? My guess is: If Yuzu hadn’t already decided to go pro, this might have caused him to stop competing. Is it really possible that he wasn’t even invited as no. 14? The reigning Japanese champion! Not just some national champion but champion of the nation with the now (after BC’s retirement) most successful skaters worldwide! Yuzu won Nationals repeatedly, beating these skaters!

Sorry in case similar thoughts have already been discussed meanwhile. Having been away for a few weeks I’m catching up browsing through 100 (or so) pages. Reading this from today’s perspective, could we have guessed? Yuzu asked Javier how life changed, becoming a professional skater. And he admitted that he had liked shows more than competitions which I personally wouldn’t have believed. I always thought Yuzu loved competing.

IMO Espoo would be perfect for various reasons. And I still cling to this hope. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Are there enough seats though? We know fron FAOI what arenas Yuzu can fill ... 🐐 BTW, I would gladly join the group of fanyus who wants to organise a private Europe tour for Yuzu. He may also be interested to come back once more to the home country of the other back-to-back Olympic Champion - a country that used to have lots of medalists until some decades ago ... ⛸🥇🥈🥉

OK, after having posted this (I'm glad I was able to post) I'm able to like other posts again. So almost back to normal, only Safari still doesn't let me open the Planet.

Agree with every point! Seimei will always remain my favorite because that was when I first saw him and became his fan immediately like my teenage daughter (never thought this could happen to me at my age). Rondo is a masterpiece - so delicate and detailed in every nuance. Hope and Legacy is a wonderful miracle - pure delight from a faultless performance. However, given what music genres twens normally prefer today, I find it only natural that Yuzu enjoys skating to music which seems to be more typical for his age group. Further, I was impressed seeing him doing movements on the ice which you would rather expect on a wooden floor. In my opinion, again, he made it look easy - as if he had been doing contemporary dance before. I can't wait to see the full "Raison" ...

Although Yuzu has the ability to turn every piece of music into magic and I wholeheartedly enjoy his classical and "calm" programs, I must say I am relieved he has now debuted two fast and energetic programs in a row. He is a young man full of power and in my opinion it fits him perfectly.

This can probably be answered by the fanyus who organised group tickets last time. I had bought 3 all-event tickets in a row, so no group price. Not sure what kind of single tickets were left after all-event tickets went on sale. As access to training was only included in all-event tickets for both competitions (unlike Montpellier for example), I had concentrated on getting these.

That would be my dream! I was lucky once to see Yuzu in Finland and Italy and probably can’t hope to be that lucky again. 🙏🏻🍀 It has cost me a fortune to go to both events with my family but I don’t regret a single cent. This time I would go alone as it’s not during school holidays, so I’m thinking about joining in case the Planet plans to organise group tickets again ...

My family has discussed passionately what conclusions Yuzu will draw from the recent decisions. It could be another challenge for him to "give lessons in what figure skating really is", as somebody already commented his performances, despite these new rules. At least he can be sure that people all over the world (and after Beijing even more) are aware what scores he would deserve ... While my daughter joined me watching parts of the ISU Congress, her dad did some research and found an old article in "Die Welt". It's astonishing that this article was published in December 2002 but the content sounds very familiar. The vast majority of Pooh sans was, of course, thrown from the VIP side opposite the judges. There were glass walls everywhere and I remember having trouble getting my plushy onto the ice since the seats were at some distance from the rink, at least at the short side opposite the K&C. Some plushies (not mine) landed on the heads of cameramen and photographers and some of them didn't even bother to pass them on.

First, I couldn't see a reason why Yuzu would pour water over his head (I was worried he'd catch a cold), but having watched a YouTube video with the lyrics I understand his choreography a little better. I also find it very impressive how he manages to convey his feelings connected with Beijing and 4A. I agree, this is different from his other programs we have seen so far. Being one of those 2172, I'm quite impressed! Although I felt happy for every new satellite who turned up, I hadn't thought it would be THAT many! A clear indication of what a nice place this planet is. Having been lurking since 2018 I have felt at home here ever since. Not only when we were showered with new Yuzu content but also after a stressful work day or during lockdown monotony - there was always something to make me feel good. I can never thank the organizers enough!

If I had the postcard books I would definitely only use them for writing home from watching Yuzu competing live ...

Yes. After having been extremely sad about the "measurable" outcome of Beijing Olympics, I am now inclined to think that Yuzu could hardly have won more hearts if he had been on the podium or even won. Which - as I still believe - was within his reach, given the constantly extremely high quality of his skating. Had there not been bad luck during SP, a fresh injury and the high pressure of having to try a risky jump due to unfair scoring. If Yuzu had won, he probably would have been considered not a normal human being and his own standards would have risen to an insane level. And the pressure of not being allowed to fail would have grown even more. Apart from all the jealousy that would have come from certain "corners". So now, I can imagine, after all the pain and bitterness it must have been a big relief. People all over the world love him for being human and become aware of the hardships he has encountered. I agree: This would also explain why he looks refreshed now while he seemed tense (and sometimes a bit red-eyed) in Beijing. Maybe there is a reason why things happen ...

Wow, thank you so much for sharing! Never thought I’d ever see Yuzu and X Japan in one show together! It was through Yuzu and Toshl’s FAOI collaboration that my family (yes, again my daughter and her dad who are also Yuzu fans) got fascinated by this band and it’s dramatic story. Of course it was very likely that, being celebrities in Japan, they have met before but seeing proof of it is like a dream come true for me.

Among all the WHAT IFs I always catch myself forgetting about the fresh injury before his Free Skate In Beijing. In my opinion, even without understanding a single word, these 2 clips should be enough to show everybody in the world what a true champion looks like.

It's a pity that Toshl had to give up (for now). I heard from other Toshl fans that there were so many people who wanted to take photos with the big Yuzu banner and they were too close to him (Toshl), therefore he didn't dare to speak (even whisper) anymore while secretly filming the floor and the stairs. I guess probably they would have recognized him by his voice even if he was disguised ...
