  1. Happy birthday and thank you for being such a wonderful, helpful and peaceful place, dear Planet!
  2. It helped me a lot to see snippets with explanations in social media soon after the show. I left with question marks that night but I was deeply moved. It felt like the first part was a farewell to the previous format of shows, to introduce something completely new in the second. I was really carried away by this new story, and the music (Before the White?) immediately went straight into my heart. Maybe REALIVE was meant to be a linking element.
  3. My starting point, too. I was watching with my almost teenage daughter and her dad joined us in our way down the rabbit hole. 😊
  4. On my flight back to Europe I watched a Japanese movie where a TV journalist was told by her boss: If you get this right, you will be promoted to moderate and interview pro-athletes! šŸ˜‰
  5. Thank you, this is one of the tiny bits of information I missed in the arena as an overseas Fanyu that hasn’t made enough progress in learning Japanese. šŸ˜… Therefore I’m really thankful I’ll always find the information I need here this community. šŸ¤— Anyway, I must say I didn’t miss the quads at all - and I wouldn’t even miss any jumps since I was so mesmerised by his moves and expressions. Wish I could see the show again …
  6. To be honest, at first I thought this account was fake. So far Yuzu didn’t post this kind of pictures of himself on his own accounts, did he? It was mostly photos from training or performance situations. This is new and I’m curious …
  7. What a joy to see two true admirers of Yuzu on the Olympic podium! What with all the obvious attempts to make him forgotten. It’s strange how I didn’t hear a word about Yuzu’s 4A on German TV (but they also didn’t remember that it was Adam who brought back the backflip years ago and not IM). Interestingly the German livestream commentator assumed a problem with the ice in one corner during the last group’s FP - while four years ago they were all convinced it was the pressure that made Yuzu pop a jump in Roncap. And again: Four years ago Yuzu had the quality and was in a condition to win the Olympics and I’m convinced he is right now but I fully understand why he doesn’t compete directly (but somehow from afar). šŸ˜‰
  8. Sorry if this question has already been asked in another thread: Does anyone know if "REALIVE" will be shown in cinemas in Japan (parallel to the show in Miyagi)?
  9. This will be my first Winter Olympics since 2018 without unbearable excitement and sleepless nights.
  10. No space between first names? Oh, I should have checked earlier. On the one hand, I am the happiest person on earth since a friend has won in the lottery for members and I am her accompanying person! I still can't believe it! Here, my two first names and the space in between were no problem. However, since my partner wants to go, too, he has participated in the second, official, lottery, too. And he has two first names, too ...
  11. Really interesting indeed! And Yuzu wearing some of his (competitive) skating costumes in a commercial - did this even happen before?
  12. Oh yes, when the volunteers entered the rink with their buckets one day at Helsinki GP 2018, I recall him pointing to spaces that needed repair in a very friendly way before leaving the ice.
  13. Defying physics. Just awesome.
  14. Wow, this is so interesting! The details of the training, the altitude and oxygen question - really fascinating! Not only is it an impressive and highly informative essay written by a school student but also a deep insight into how Yuzu became the person that inspires us so much. Already was back then! (I wonder what trainers in my country think when they read this essay. If I’m not mistaken, no šŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ single skaters will compete at the next Olympics. šŸ¤”)
  15. Maybe this is one of the reasons why, despite not competing and not being present on an international level anymore, Yuzu is still being discovered by new fans (many in their twenties btw).
  16. Have to come back to this since IMO it points to one of the reasons why the world is as it is right now. Come to read it again, I feel how important it is for every aspect of our surroundings: video clips on SM getting shorter by the hour, fast fashion, people feeling pressured and exhausted at their jobs. And then there’s Yuzu. Not only his programs but his entire personality radiate veracity and reliability. You sense how much detail is being put into every detail. This gives people energy, a feeling of being home and looked after.
  17. Thank you! These clips are all so beautiful! Sorry in case this has already been answered, but can we watch the complete behind the scenes video anywhere? On YouTube maybe?
  18. I happened to watch this video almost immediately after seeing the results of this year’s mens SP at Worlds. And couldn’t help grinning when I saw the score this reactor has given Yuzu. Yes, my impression when I first saw BOW AND ARROW had been: Wow, this SP would have the potential to win any competition! And after watching some of the men at Worlds I felt the strong need to treat myself with some high-quality figure skating, so I rewatched Yuzu’s BOW AND ARROW, which he has probably named ā€œShort Programā€ for a reason. šŸ˜šŸ¤” I wonder if we’ll get to see a new program named ā€œFree Programā€ some time soon … Don’t get me wrong, this is not about returning to competition, but I enjoy how Yuzu keeps the distance, competing with his own high ambitions and delighting us with some real amazing figure skating of another level.
  19. ā€œHe has the potential to return to competition at any time, but by keeping the distance, he can feel the colours of life.ā€ This one sentence says it all, couldn’t have described the situation any better. šŸ‘šŸ‘Œ
  20. Yuzu keeps inspiring people all over the world, and more physics students who read this PhD thesis in the future (and are not necessarily interested in figure skating itself) will find him and will be fascinated.
  21. I wonder if live viewing in cinemas in Europe will also be an option one day. They have livestreams from the Metropolitan Opera at times, so why not Echoes or Yuzuā€˜s next programs? I guess fans would travel within Europe to attend such venues …
  22. This is so great! In 2018, after discovering Yuzu, my family ordered the Onmyoji DVD to understand what Seimei is about. Seeing them collaborate is just a dream come true. What wonderful performances, Bolero and Seimei!
  23. Thank you for this wonderful livestream! I had so much fun watching it live and rewatching it with a family member. So many wonderful wishes, personal stories and ideas! After today’s show (I hope I’ll still manage to get a ticket for the archive) I hope Yuzu will find the time to watch the video and enjoy our birthday wishes. 😊
  24. Exactly. This year when I learned that they had turned Finlandia Trophy into a GP event I couldn’t help missing 2018 Helsinki GP. Although it would have fit perfectly with my schedule this year and I have free accommodation now that my daughter has moved to Finland, I would never consider going to the arena anymore for a GP event.
  25. Yuzu is a person who is extremely skilled in choosing the right words. So why have I never thought of him as a potential fiction writer? Silly me …
