  1. 😂 I completely agree with this. No way Brian went to Hanyu’s house just to ask one question. Also, that article states that Brian will be in Japan in a few weeks for one of his shows. So I’m of the belief that all is well between them. I don’t think they will ever have the relationship that he and Javi has for various reasons. However, I think there is genuine affection between them despite what I’m sure can at times be a relationship with many peaks and valleys, which really is like any relationship. Regarding Brian not asking Hanyu about Jin, when he asked Javi about bringing on Hanyu that was more than 6 years ago. Brian and TCC were in a completely different place at that time. It had only been a couple of years since he’d come off the horrible break with Yuna, the mass exodus from TCC that followed and as I understand, he and Javi weren’t exactly holding hands singing Kimbaya those first couple of years either. This likely all factored into Brian asking Javi about Hanyu. Now he (Brian) is a world renowned coach and TCC is considered one of the best figure skating training facilities in the business. So I don’t know if asking other skaters permission to bring on new talent is even an option anymore. They of course need to be mindful of the impact on everyone when adding skaters, but at the same time they still have a business to run.
  2. Like others, I’m a little nervous if the news about Jason is true. As been stated, with so many top tier skaters being coached at one facility with their primary coach being the same it may be inevitable that everyone won’t get the attention they desire. Also, three direct competitors training under the same roof can get dicey. Granted Yuzuru, Boyang and Brown are in different places with their careers. However, they’re still aiming for the same goals and thus things could get really intense. I remembering hearing that during this last season Yuzuru and Javi bumped heads due to the mounting pressure of competition and they’d been training together for years. So there is the potential for issues with all these talents training together. However this plays out, I hope it goes well for all involved.
  3. This. And Brian has always stated that he wanted to reinvigorate TCC, making it a skating club with lots of top International talent. Getting Boyang and Evgenia must be a dream come true for him and team. If they can coach them to success that is similar to what Yuzuru, Javi and Yuna accomplished under their tutelage the club will gain even more prestige and thus more top talent, and will likely go down as one of the best figure skating training centers in history.
