Isn't ice resurfacing normally like 20min🤔

I thought he was giving those 45+ K audience time to queue up for the restrooms. :67638860:

    The passing of a friend

It is with sadness that I share that our fellow Satellite @Muffinator passed away early yesterday morning (USA time) after a battle with an aggressive cancer.  She had mentioned this illness on her profile last year. Some of you may remember her as spearheading a letter campaign last year where she showed tremendous determination in advocating for fairness in FS judging. Those of you who were part of the campaign can vouch for her strong organizational skills, her logical approach and leadership.    Muffinator was a deeply introspective person, and we would often chat about really existential-level Yuzu things.  She was never afraid to speak her mind both on this forum and in private. Her views were interesting and unusual.

She was a devoted Fanyu and found so much joy in watching Yuzu's performances. Even during her illness she often remarked at how watching Yuzu's skating would take her away from the pain, even if it was for a short time. She was able to loose herself in his performances. Looking at Yuzu's photo books also served as a joyful distraction from her suffering. I know she was so grateful for Yuzu's comforting power.  She leaves behind her devoted husband and teenage boy.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I remember how enthusiastic she was when she joined the Planet and her efforts to push for fair scoring in FS. It's so sad that we lost her when we need more people like her who are so inspiring in their passion to push for change to make things better. I'm glad Yuzu's skating brought her some comfort during her illness.

It's a big loss for the fanyu community and we will miss her. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Anyone here from Canada who got their mobile numbers KKTIX verified for Gift? I couldn't get the PIN to verify my number. I hope phone numbers are not needed to buy tickets and watch the live performance.. :weeping:

I got that message, too, yesterday, and tried it again today. I was unsuccessful again. How can they find your number without the area code? For me I entered United States+1, then my phone number with area code. STILL didn't work. :( I'm tearing my hair out over this.

I did the same and it didn't work for me either. I left a message with them, but haven't gotten a response yet.

I'm thinking we don't need the phone number to watch GIFT if they use the phone for lotteries and ticket delivery similar to the other ticketing sites. Hope that's true.

wait why is everyone saying its kohei???

my first thought was a music guest like miya or ill volo cuz of notte stellata

Because of Yuzu’s final pose, it reminded many people of Uchimira.

    Yes, this pose:

I immediately thought maybe II Volo because Notte Stellata and they were supposed to do FaOI in 2020, but they're actually doing a concert in Rio de Janeiro on March 11, so it won't be them.

So curious to see who the special guest may be!

Yuzu inviting Patrick to skate at his show would be amazing! But I wonder, does Patrick actually still skate on a professional level and do ice shows?

    .....

Yes, Patrick Chan is coming out of retirement to participate in "Stars on Ice"....

Well if we're going to drag people out of retirement to skate at Yuzu's shows, then I also want Virtue/Moir and the Shibutanis. :tumblr_inline_ncmifaymmi1rpglid:

Me too. However, having other participants means he can take a little more risk and challenge himself with a new, difficult, dense program, including, for example, unusual jump combinations, with less concern for saving energy for 90 minutes of continuous skating.

I'm also very curious about this collaboration with Beyond AI. I don't even dare to speculate what it will be, because I know nothing in this matter, but it seems that when he talked about taking FS to another level, he really meant it 😅

It also allows him to skate complete programs instead of parts of different programs. I'm quite happy with the cast that was just announced so it's all good!

Oh, that looks fun! I was wondering about her because she's the only one in the cast I'm not familiar with.

Major Travel tour operator. They not only organise usual tourism package holidays but also specialise in tour packages centred on sporting events and other large events. They have European presence as well https://jtbeurope.com/. Not sure if this for European travel for visitors travelling from Japan or for European holiday makers to book as well, hoping that this will include travel from Europe to Japan with flight, hotel and ?Event ticket ? all included. Can live in hope

    JTB in the US:  https://www.jtbusa.com/

Travel package including ticket+flight+hotel sure would be nice!

Understand your dilemma entirely. UK is so far from Japan, flying there for a short view of Yuzu performing would be a big undertaking, just putting aside the ticket annihilation for now. It is a good cause and if Yuzu is the main feature then most likely worth the stress of ticket lottery and flight/hotel.

Also we'll be in Japan and can register and activate all those pesky ticketing apps for future show lotteries!

Yuzu seems to have so much fun in shows with other skaters so I want to support him in those shows as well, but of course would prefer 1 1/2 hours of Yuzu over a few minutes.

  7. :68271401: Happy New Year to Yuzu and All Satellites! :68271401:

Wishing peace, happiness, success, and good health to everyone in the new year.

May Yuzu have fun and enjoy many rewards as he advances his Pro career, and may we share many happy moments cheering for him and supporting him together! :loveshower:

Even China has just relaxed its Covid restrictions -- Japan has got to allow screaming at Yuzu's ice shows!

How amazing would it be to hear the Tokyo Dome crowd roar and see Pooh rain! (Although with that many people throwing Poohs, that might be a danger for Yuzu. :P )

Or maybe they can sell some sort of noise maker. At one Olympics, they sold cow bells and spectators would gather along the ski / bobsled / etc. routes and ring the bells when the athletes passed by.

@SaluYuzu, hope things get better for you at work.

Unless I’m missing something, there’s nothing in the rules of conduct for spectators to prohibit screaming. If that’s the case, it will be absolute pandemonium. And I will love every deafening, bone-rattling second.
    :volcano:

Hate to be the party pooper, but the lottery application had some venue rules listed including COVID precautions. This rule would discourage screaming:

    Quote

・Avoid airtightness, crowding, and close contact, and refrain from loud conversations and contact (handover of goods, handshakes, high fives, etc.) between customers in the venue.

In addition, I think they verbally announce rules at the beginning of the show which might include a request for people not to scream.

In Prologue, there was no screaming except when people got too excited at the GIFT announcement. I assume the same rules will apply to GIFT.

It's sad, but I'm glad they are trying to keep everyone safe. Most people are wearing surgical masks at the venue. These masks are not tightly fitted, so there will be leakage along the edges if people are screaming and everyone is sitting very close to each other.

It would be so amazing if screaming was allowed though (damn COVID). Just clapping is not sufficient because many wear gloves so it muffles the sound. Also, many are waving a banner, so they can't clap. And when you've been clapping hard throughout the show, by the end your hands are all red and they hurt so you can't clap as loud as you want. At competitions, I used to fake clap at the end for the other skaters except for Yuzu.:13877886:

At the end of the show it had occurred to me, when were we going to see Yuzu again.

    Truly a gift indeed

That was one of the questions that I submitted to him for the Q&A.

I thought I would not get an answer but wow, he answered it at the end!

Wow, he's going to perform in Tokyo Dome - that HUGE arena! - on February 26, 2023.  OMG OMG OMG!!!

    Tokyo Dome capacity is 55,000!

There has to be a way for international fans to attend!

I'm submitting my vacation request from work now... booking my hotel too!

  12. Good morning, afternoon, evening, middle of the night, where ever you are. :)

Nervous and excited for Yuzu's final Prologue show. It's the 6 minute warmup that makes me nervous. Lol!

Hope he has the best time today!

    Oooh, the show just started!
