Maybe they just told Raf to take something to catch it in time in case he got infected. Coaches do get close to their students and their, eh... belongings *points at piles of tissues* (there were some pretty nasty strains of the cold and the flu going around this winter season. No fun at all and those can take you out for a while.)

Not sure if he actually is invited or not, but gala invitations are not only about placement but also about who the organizers think the audience will want to see. That's why Misha or Elladj for example often get invited, despite maybe lower placements than others, because they're tons of fun in shows and people love them.

He already made Pooh talk to PJ once I wouldn't even be surprised if one day he just went "Would you kindly direct your questions at the Pooh himself, thank you very much"

well, you know Yuzu fans usually be like

they talked about his pop star status, how his fans are "something else" and shower him with Poohs. They played part of the press conference (the one before the competition in Japanese) where he talked about why fans started throwing Poohs. And they went out to talk to some fans waiting in line for hours (I guess maybe for the public practice because no assigned seats? They didn't specify). The talking to fans part was in English and one of the girls they interviewed was like, all these girls here come from China but we still love him so that "fans from all over the world" vibe was nice at least

that and, uh, weather let it get at least a little bit warmer before you parade him around on top of a truck

I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. IIRC, the one after Sochi was sometime in late April.
