The worst part is if he decides to repeat both of his programs. Our costume discussion creativity would probably cut into half and wouldn't be able to fill in the Yuzu deficiency syndrome
-
Damn how do you even skate a program with 7 quads? Set up- quad- set up- quad- spin - set up -quad - choreo sequence - set up- quad x 2? Well if 4Lz consistency is anything near Yuzu's 4Lo, I say bring it on baby This summer is gonna be a long intense ride
-
I think some of us are still trapped in the Chopin 2.0 layout. Had Yuzu skated this same layout, 4Lo 3A 4T3T, to LGC or new music, I doubt we'll go he downgrades his layout, he's been defeated by his unsuccessful SP last season, he's going too safe etc. If the music is not Chopin 3.0, I'm pretty sure people would see the significance of having 4-3 combo on the second half for the 1st time more, than worrying about his downgrade in terms of technical difficulties (which I kinda bc well I'm a person who doesn't really consider 4S is a lot harder than 4T). For the transitions, well he basically switched around the program components timing without really having new choreography touches. It's clear he hasn't been working with Jeff. His skill has improved comparing from 2015-2016 to last season, so I don't think we should expect less transitions and complex programs from him. For the judges, I am in the impression they don't even remember Yuzu's Chopin to the point they will not appreciate the program as it should be and kind of deduct points for lack of freshness. LGC Yuzu is probably the program they have in their mind as comparison bc: 1. There are a lot of different judges out there, there is a possibility some of the judges have never even seen Chopin 2.0 2. After judging so many competitions, I doubt they will remember the programs the participants did 2 seasons ago. That's why Chopin 3.0 doesn't really worry me bc at least Yuzu has skipped one season before decided to bring it back. 3. LGC and Chopin are two totally different programs. There is no way you could see LGC Yuzu in Chopin Yuzu. So, the imprinted LGC Yuzu image could help to emphasize his versatility. 4. There is a possibility that those judges who hate LGC and pro classic programsp would love Chopin, be like "this is what he should have done before", and throw some points 5. Well I figured so many people in this field have short-term memory and they also judge the ability of the skaters based on the images of the skaters. So don't underestimate consistentcy. As for 4Lz, it will be nice if he could put it in, but if it's not ready, I don't think it's necessary. Just like some of you said the men's field is different bc of the techs ridiculousness of the youngsters. So, I guess maybe we should stop expecting him to be 5-10 points ahead of them all the time. And just like being safe is risky, going into a difficult layout route with 60% chance of landing a jump is even riskier. This is Olympic season and the main goal is OGM. Yuzu had experienced how stressful Olympic could be. An extra bagage to the existing pressure is not necessary at all.

Damn boy! That's why he was so frustrated he couldn't get LGC right and looked so happy to be clean today. I don't think Yuzu will have a crazy layout on SP tbh He may be stubborn with his ideals, but he usually is more subtle on SP. FP on the other hand, is a different story. Those crazy combos he jumped during practice may come out at anytime followed by some IB-SE-3A if he feels like it. And just like u said, 105-110 pts is enough to put him in the game even if the others go clean, so I don't see the point of him to try going beyond that mark by putting a harder layout that could backfire. But then this is Yuzu, we never know what is on his mind
-
Okay so he had 5 clean streaks? Is that back to back? I mean GPF, Nats, Oly team, Oly are back to back for sure. Not sure when was TEB. Well, yeah the current layout is harder, but PW 2.0 layout was hard for an eighteen-turned-nineteen-at-Dec-2013 Yuzu too. So, another 5 clean streak is still possible for the 22 y.o Yuzu Looking at the record, PW's ridiculous consistency was the main reason Yuzu broke the 100 pts barrier at Sochi then. I guess Yuzu probably wants to go this route once again. A reliable SP with the consistency of his current 4T. seriously Yuzu just bring back that consistency once every 4 years
-
Anyone remembers how many times did Yuzu go clean with PW at the 2013-2014 season? I know it's a record breaking program and I think he went clean 3 times back to back gpf-Oly team-Oly. Just as a comparison for the 8-times-clean-Chopin-performances I said before
-
Yuzu doesn't need a 4Lz, he only needs to skate like today for 8 more times and he will be fine
-
If Yuzu could have Evgenia's consistency, even with the 2015-2016 330 mega score layout, I bet all my money for Yuzu at Pyeongchang. Call me overconfident or delusional fanyu whatever, I doubt any of the men, even Chen with 6 quads, could beat a 4 quads program from Yuzu with Evgenia's style of consistency. He basically becomes unbeatable with consistency, especially with a 4Lo 3A 4T3T sp and 5 quads FP.
-
So will Yuzu stay in Japan until Kobe and work with Jeff? Is there any information regarding that? Or more experienced fans probably know how it worked 2-3 years ago in between ice shows schedule?

Can we just move on from this "recycling" topic?? It really annoys me tbh not bc I don't agree with you guys or I can't appreciate different opinions. It's just I feel like the decision is made, Yuzu will skate to Chopin to attain his goal, so as his fans, can't we be more supportive? Comments and critics are welcome bc this is a fan forum after all. We come to give out our opinions. However, this topic has been too draggy at this point, no? And it's not like he will skate the same exact program as in 2015-2016 season, he will make changes. I understand some of you are disappointed with his limited choice of music, and yeah there are millions of music out there, but not all music would make a masterpiece figure skating program. And the Olympic is a big thing. It's Yuzu's dream and goal. He wants it million times more than us. He knows what he's doing. I think a lot of people forget that he is an athlete first than an artist. Yes, he loves to emphasize artistry in his program, but what is artistry and creativity if those cannot give him gold medals. His first job as an athlete is to win, that's why he chooses a career in sports and not in art industry. Sorry for my long rant and I don't want to offend anyone. This is just purely my honest opinion.

Do you know if I can use my US account on Amazon Japan? Bc I have 0 Japanese skill so Amazon Japan is like an impossible task for me
-
Nahhh no more kuyashi OGM please I remember I streamed Sochi during my pre-calc lecture and literally shitting on my seat when Yuzu fell twice and couldn't breathe properly until PChan's score came out. Didn't even get the chance to take any notes except for the day and date of that damn lecture
-
I understand he sees SC silver as a defeat, but World's silver too Thousands of skaters out there would die to get a silver at Worlds and yet he looked so crushed I couldn't even bear watching I don't think he is the type of guy who would enter a competition knowing he wouldn't win... I'm pretty sure he would r***** when he's still able to jump 4Lz and 4A. But yeah I don't see him gone so soon... he loves Japan too much to go when Japan still doesn't have another two rising stars to secure 3 spots at Worlds and Olympics
-
So I just had time to watch Chopin 1.0 he performed at DOI and boy oh boy it was beautiful It felt a little bit weird for me because Chopin 2.0 has been the "it" program for me and I always go back to watch it over and over, thus the sequence of the program is already imprinted in my mind. I love this program the most bc I felt the step sequence really showed Yuzu's skills and I can't wait to see how he expands the program even more. Since it's the Olympic season, blue is the special color isn't it? I think his Chopin 2.0 costume's color really suits the Olympic with blue and tiny bit gold. Also, the costume really made his delicacy stood out. I really can't wait for the costume too argghhh I'm soooo excited hahaha I guess the roler coaster of emotions we had ytd built up the hype (or should I say, nerves? Tension?) for the Olympic season even more

I'm not trying to be rude but I find it funny how some people act like by doing Chopin 3.0, Yuzu suddenly becomes a scaredy cat who is going the super safe route for the Olympic. I mean Chopin 3.0 is not a downgrade program, Xeyra, I believe, calculated the BV he performed today in an ice show, I repeat, IN AN ICE SHOW, and it's higher. Also, why do other athletes could use their old programs and not Yuzu??? I read on tumblr people were complaining that Yuzu followed the recycling trend like others and I went if there are several people who go down that route, then maybe it's the best choice. I won't ever think Yuzu suddenly becomes a different person and doesn't go for the best performance he could ever give just bc he decides to keep his old programs. He is a wise person, who already at the top for at least 4 years, he knows what he's doing. And it's not like he suddenly decides to not jump quads anymore, his BV is still higher. So please stop saying stuff like he suddenly throws all of his skating ideals, he doesn't know what he's doing, this could backfire, stupid strategy etc Just trust in Yuzu and his team Anyway can't wait for FaOI day 2!!! Yuzu please bring more extraness and give this thread more sunshine and rainbows
-
Well if we're still on GS, that exciting 25 pages we had today would never happen we know how they are about "off topic" I just love u guys so much for enduring Fuji TV troll You guys brought back the rainbow and sunshine this thread used to have until Chopin 3.0 happened lol just realized I'm baby pooh already

I guess the best music he meant was Chopin and now I guess Seimei just came into the picture too I just think about this... Yuzu is very superstitious. He won the last Olympic with a reused SP and different music cuts of the same FS theme he did before. So I guess he tried to bring the good omen from that time and kinda use similar strategy I smell Seimei 2.0 with different music cuts coming...
-
Well I was thinking JSF would put Shoma there ... but yeah I guess Yuzu is more profitable... and for the positivity side, maybe I should have mentioned Rostelecom
-
Is it only me who thinks Yuzu and his team are just trying to have as much positivity as they could going into the Oly as the reigning Olympic's champion? Hence no SC and keeping Chopin? I mean Yuzu said he would have 2 new programs for Oly season, but he said it last season, so it could mean he won't keep both LGC and H&L. He also said H&L wasn't liked as much by the public, or judges tbh, and i bet he realized it affected his GOEs badly. Thus, it's just normal for him to choose among his programs which one is working with the judges, because well his taste and the judges' are just that different. He went into Sochi with a repeat SP and it honestly concerned me before when I thought he would go with a new SP into the Oly since he said he wouldn't keep LGC bc we all knew he never really did that well with new SP. He needed time to adjust and beat the program to become his and he doesn't have that time in the Oly season.

I rewatch this again and I find it funny that Yuzuru is an athlete and yet he looks more like an idol than most idols performing there also his skin is so fair, fairer than the actress and he is the fairest amongst all when they all stand together to sing Hana Wa Saku I guess our swan hates the sun so much I know he has fair skin (Asian standard), Nobu even joked about it (he complimented Yuzu's fair skin and cute face and made fun of the other older woman guest for falling to that), but this video shocks me. I didn't know he was that fair skin lol And this is the first time I notice Yuzu's wearing contacts I always know he's wearing prescription glasses, but never notice his contacts. Do skaters perform with contacts? Idk if it will be dangerous in case they fall and hit their head, and it's not like they need a perfect eyesight to perform (not like in tennis, where my glasses is literally more important than my racket lol)
-
Ehm okay so how do they swim like that ... or do they just go to stationarily float around
-
Yeah I read about this too and I went wait then Yuzu arrived in Japan already... but where's the news I love everything about Yuzu except his ninja moves tbh
