On that day, the 16-year-old Hanyu saw his hometown in ruins. At night, the power went out and darkness prevailed. In the midst of fear and despair, he looked up at the sky and... There, the sky was full of stars shining brightly. Hanyu felt a "light of hope" in the starry sky. The title of this show is Notte Stellata. (Italian for "full of stars" or "starry moonlit night"). Like the beautiful stars that illuminated the disaster area on that day we hope to send out a message of hope and bring a smile to people's faces, even if just a little bit. On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. Yuzuru Hanyu, who was hit by the earthquake in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, went to the evacuation center with his family that night. A broken building, a burst water pipe - What I saw on the way to the shelter was the completely changed appearance of my hometown. Due to the power outage caused by the earthquake, the beautiful stars that are usually invisible because of the city lights were shining. Like the sky full of stars that lit up the disaster area on that day, I hope that I can spread hope and make people smile ever just a little.
