As a Chinese American living in the geopolitical hotspot of Hong Kong, I am intimately familiar with the political and geopolitical tensions both globally and within the region and have always urged caution and ultra sensitivity when it comes to anything having to do with China. That said, Yuzu is a rare and exceptional case. Millions of Chinese people are willing to overcome nationality issue to give him love and support from the bottom of their hearts and it is just natural for Yuzu to reciprocate. I tend to think the no-political-involvement message can be overplayed by fans -- albeit out of good intention -- to create issue out of non-issue.

It takes Turkey TV to put Yuzu's name alongside Roger and Serena and acknowledge he is among the greatest in the sports world. Western media would never do that -- which is outrageous and sad. I am a big fan of Rafa and my love for him was so intense that I couldn't watch him play live due to extreme nervousness. The discovery of Yuzu during the Beijing Olympics, however, changed me forever. Both Rafa and Roger all of a sudden seem mere mortals to me while Yuzu is GOD. Don't get me wrong the tennis greats are supreme athletes with big personalities, but there is just something transcendental about Yuzu that sets him far apart and above all of the other legends.

I do take pride in watching both SP and FS of Beijing Olympics at least once every day the past few months. I reckon if Yuzu was brave enough to skate them his fans should also have the courage to follow his journey.... P.S. Only watch Yuzu's programs of course. Have neither time nor interest for the others ....

Yuzu is such a pure and delicate flower. One feels the urge to shelter him from the evil forces of the earthly world, but then he is also the strongest and bravest -- what a phenomenon of extreme and most beautiful duality!

They all love him but none of them had the courage or conscience to speak up about the mistreatment and they still don't notwithstanding being eye-witnesses to the atrocities time and again over the years. In a sense, they are all complicit in this corrupt system. They have all gained money and fame thanks to Yuzu but none of them genuinely cared about how he has felt...

Won't they rather support the GOAT than JSF?! It just doesn't make commercial sense!
