  1. He looked so excited getting Shuzo's signature and the message is so sweet! I'm going to rewatch that interview again for nostalgia
  2. I thought he just simply replaced his old Pooh-san, turns out he was left in Toronto because of Covid, poor guy lol
  3. I’m also interested to hear what Patrick has to say and it brought in instant nostalgia. Yuzu’s “You just wait, I will be the one standing there” to Chiddy who won gold in SC 2015 and Chiddy looking so pissed in Sochi K&C 😂 Like the guy always had the tendency to put his foot in his mouth lmao but I kinda have a soft spot for Chiddy once he mellowed down. And I agree he pushed Yuzu to improve and was also a victim of ISU pushing him to retire.
  4. Omg I’d love that and I will visit the thread after all the Yuzu flood we’re getting. Good time to learn something new while waiting for our pro athlete. I’m just trying to find time in between my work and life but I’d love to take up classes again.
  5. @JanMarythank you for the translations! Is there a way we can watch this live? Does Japan TV Standard work here. Not that I can understand anything lol but it looks too fun to miss and I hope there will be some live translations later
  6. Omg this sounds fun! Also that part where Yuzu didn’t tell anyone about his decision. He really is a secretive guy.
  7. It’s really easy to grasp KaNa but Kanji is making my head hurt lol. I thrive on a classroom setup so enrolling in classes again might help but I like the idea of reviving the Japanese thread. It also makes me sad that some interviews are left untranslated but I can’t blame the translators for that since they already have their hands full.
  8. Same. I enrolled in some classes but never took it seriously enough. I think I completely lost motivation now that Yuzu is retired from the competitive career. Maybe it’s time we do! You know for future lengthy interviews with Yuzuru Hanyu, the Professional Athlete
  9. Someone asked Lae if they’re going to translate other snippets of news like the one where Nobu cried and talked about Yuzu and she said probably not since there are so many things to translate already, not to mention there’s another one coming out tonight. I read that they already reached 42 pages of transcript just for the presscon alone 🥺 hope someone could help translate other things and please if you can, give some Kofi to the hardworking translators in our community
  10. Yuzu hasn’t competed for GP series for 2 years but it still feels odd not seeing his name in the assignments
  11. https://hanyusan.tumblr.com/post/690388256009994240/fly-high-a-yuzuru-hanyu-infographic-analyzing-his Just wanted to share. I found this being shared on Tumblr. An infograph of all of Yuzu’s jumps and the success rate. Op did amazing work! His 3A success rate 😍
  12. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You put into words what I’ve been feeling, that I’ll miss Yuzu till we see him again as the Pro Athlete. Though this one is entirely different, it feels similar in the same way after Beijing and the mood suddenly shifted once it was confirmed he was going to perform in FaOI. It’s unfair to make Yuzu in charge of our emotions and emotions will rise again when we grt proper translations of all his interviews but I know that once the overall mood of our fandom settles down, it’ll be easier to move on and find acceptance and cherish his competitive days. After all life goes on and I’m sure the days that I used to anticipate and watch his comps will be filled with other memories too. I do plan to take a break from social media too for my sake. Yuzu is promoting self-love, we should do that for ourselves too. Yuzu is so positive and forward-looking because he has so many plans in mind, so many things he’s preparing for and it’s so lovely that with those plans, he still considers his fanbase. Here’s to hoping that he shares those plans with us soon enough and that we won’t stay sad for long.
  13. Gosh I’m crying again. What a wonderful, illustrious career

  16. I googled professional competitions and found the Landover which was created by Dick Button. From Wikipedia: Dick Button said: "In the amateur world, they count your triple jumps, and if you don't do enough they forget about your other skating. We do not make our competitors prove their merit. We let them present creative programs with as many or as few triple jumps as they wish." This goes in line with Yuzu’s values! It’s going to be exciting if these are revived. But only if he wants to join.
  17. The removal of his bio from JSF, the statement from him through JSF and the shift from Hanyu-Sensu to Hanyu-san had made it al real and final. It’s finally sinking in.
  18. I agree. I also think you should go with it. I’ll happily send a copy of the letter if needed. Yuzu’s thesis is proof of his vision for the sport and a call for reform and it’s worth trying to save the sport that Yuzu loves so much. If that can get through ISU and a miracle actually happens, the younger generation of skaters would largely benefit from it and I think that would make Yuzu happy knowing how he’s always looked out for his juniors. Don’t rush yourselves and give yourself time to allow yourself to process your emotions from Yuzu’s announcement. Thank you @Muffinatorand Anabel for doing this.
  19. I think @Henni147is in charge of editing Yuzu’s wiki! Thank you for always updating it ❤️
  20. @YuzurellaExactly. Even with how well he was doing and improving more and more, he was being treated so unfairly. He knows, he always knew. You can see the disappointment in his face at the Kiss &Cry when they announce his scores, when he said “I hope the rotation was okay for the toe.” We’re talking about a guy whose graduation thesis on AI judging, a clear call to reform the system. Yuzu always said he loves to compete and he loves to win. So to hear this in his presscon was bittersweet: “I think I have grown in such a way that I don't seek that kind of evaluation anymore." I say bittersweet because I’m happy that he has outgrown that and chose to take care of himself by leaving something that doesn’t give him joy anymore. Sad and angry because would we have come to this conclusion had he only gotten the scores he deserved? Isu can reslly choke and burn themselves
  21. https://www.asahi.com/special/hanyu-yuzuru/2022-dream/ Saw this which summarized his competitive life complete with photos of all the wonderful moments and archives of articles about him. The last quad is kinda sad compared to the other 2 quads. I am in tears again 😭
  22. Woke up feeling sad again. I keep bargaining lol I’m hoping the things we will miss about seeing him in competition will be replaced by something better when we see him skate again.
  23. I’m going to miss him in JNats this December
