i'm glad he can finally speak his mind. it must be gratifying after keeping all of that in whilst shouldering the enormous pressure that he did. whatever else he has to say though, it might be worse than just feeling like a puppet so im nervous ngl.

i think ill stick around figure skating for team korea and japan but i won't be as invested in it as i was before, what with all the problems that have yet to be remedied and seem to be getting worse which is part of the reason why i don't want to be nostalgic for yuzu's comp era because so many moments of happiness were taken away because of this. but you know, one cannot help reminiscing because even with the countless lows, the highs although not as numerous recently, were very much worth it. clean rondo, for example, was absolutely a gift i do not regret stressing over the state of the sport for lol.

The ISU is putting videos of Yuzu programs up on their channel

im gonna make a list of competition stuff ill miss (in no particular order) just because im in my feels again watching all of these clips of yuzu pop up: the things ill miss: His presence in general lol it always hyped everyone up and i don't think that special feeling of yuzuru hanyu taking the ice at a competition whether or not it was during practice or the actual event will ever be replicated kiss and cry, it was sad how recently he didn't have anyone but pooh while waiting for his scores ;w; i missed when borser and co would make jokes with him, react with him etc. and ill miss him talking to pooh during k&c too the ritual before skating, shake hands with coaches, bend down, squeeze pooh's face, go to the center, crossing himself as a reminder to keep his axis straight and prayer hands, sometimes lil spins pooh rain, ending pose, the loud cheering costume reveal! always so fun seeing all the banners in the stands for him filling in the holes in the ice/helping staff do it podiuming (when he was genuinely happy with the result), the flower crown/wreath shenanigans interactions with other skaters

so do you guys think we'll have longer yuzu droughts than before or shorter ones?

it would be funny (and very yuzuru) if he did end up going to milan on short notice, but that's for the future and i will gladly wait until then, watching what yuzuru has to offer in these next couple of years

someone said that "i wish i had found him sooner" and i can't help but agree i think the first time i saw yuzuru hanyu perform was during the hope/legacy era, but i didn't truly get involved with following him until during the 2018 olys. i wish i had been witness to the triumph of pre olympics seimei, etc.

anyways congratulations to our eternal champion

ok kind of a hot take but now that i think about it i might've been more stressed if he competed this season lol what with all the changes and such

ah so he is leaving competitive skating...and going on to a different kind of competitive skating because let's be honest, he is always competing lol tbh it doesn't hit as much when it was first leaked by a certain news agency, im glad i don't have any stakes in the sport other than rika kihira lol. isu and jsf and all that have treated him badly enough, so it's good he won't have to deal with the three component score system. anyways, yuzuru we will continue to support you! go on to do great things and most of all REST THAT ANKLE MISTER. sucks that his last comp was beijing but ah well what can one do. and he is continuing to skate which is the good thing!
