  1. Just want to make a quick shootout to Yuzuru Hanyu himself: Congratulations for getting your degree in Human Information Science at Waseda University. You have worked really hard and you are not alone because us fans have been rooting and cheering you on since the beginning! Please use your degree to the best of your ability and to succeed in whatever you do with it. We love you very much! All the best, Cynthia Teoh.
  2. So it seems like he cannot show up to receive it in person as the graduation ceremony can only include one group. What a shame.
  3. Just watched this live-streamed and while I missed part of the beginning I didn't see Yuzuru there. However, I check the official Waseda University website and it says that the second group will start at 2 PM (Japan time). That means it will be at 2 AM in the Central time this morning (if you are in the same time zone as myself in Ottawa). Yuzuru's degree in Human Information Science is in the second group for Human Sciences. Please take note of the time to watch (I don't know if they will fully upload both live-streams as a result). Below is the link. https://www.waseda.jp/top/en/news/73684
  4. Is the graduation ceremony going to be live-streamed on the official website? How long is it supposed to be? I might tune in after watching my church's sermon. Would be nice to finally see him live again. Also recently re-watched his Seimei program on the Olympics YouTube channel just 11 hours ago.
  5. Okay, those reporters need a restraining order and charged with trespassing. That is way too far! Though I am doubtful if his female fans are still stalking the family home given the second wave of COVID-19. On a side note: Sorry for not being very active on these forums. Some of my attention has been directed to sumo wrestling (especially since I follow the lightweight yet cute Enho Akira!), though I still miss watching Yuzuru's Seimei program. If anyone asks, I will just say I am a fan of both! Can't believe it's been a whole year since ACI 2019 too.
  6. I mean, it's not that Yuzuru doesn't have a good grip on the English language, it's just that he needs to refine it better that's all. When I was little I had trouble with it too (especially with my learning disability) and even now I still have trouble wording my phrases properly. That's why he is struggling to word his sentences in English, so he may feel his vocabulary is limited. If he's around an Japanese-English interpreter, he can ask them to help him with more difficult words that he knows in Japanese. Reading more often is another way to expand your vocabulary too. I should know this as I am learning both Cantonese and Japanese, so I understand the many hurdles of language learning. I am more fluent in the former and entering OJLS for Japanese (don't know how to speak it yet just reading and writing).
  7. So hilarious! Had to turn the volume up to hear Yuzu's voice in the distance but definitely heard it! I bet they were each other's secret fanboy since they met, even long after Javi retired! XD
  8. Bet it must have been fun to be the camera person behind the video! They even saved the best pose for last (when Yuzuru finally turns to the audience and smile!). XD
  9. Link to a video I came across earlier today. Check it out!
  10. So I know there isn't a cancellation from Skate Canada about ACI 2020, but did they sell any tickets? Usually they sold them in June but no email notice from them. I might just go to Skate Canada International 2020 in Ottawa since I am not risking the trip to ACI 2020. When do tickets for Skate Canada International go on sale if they choose to do so (pricing?)?
  11. Thank you for answering my question (although I don't know WHY that link was included). Simply put, I have been out of the loop for so long, so I just needed to get up to date about Yuzuru nothing else.
  12. Do you know when he has returned to Japan? How did you know about that?
  13. Could you all just clarify with me here if he has actually GONE to Japan? I am just getting mixed up here. Haven't been up to date with Yuzuru Hanyu in the past couple of weeks.
  14. How many days will you be at? Is it also your only seat? Will make sure to seek you out.
  15. So is she his former coach Nanami Abe? It doesn't look like his mother...:?
  16. You guys do realize that back in 2009 RPattz used to not shower, right? Like one time he admitted that he hadn't washed his hair in six weeks. Here is a more updated article listed below released in 2015 on his hygiene but still....:S. I mean, the American media likes to brag about white men being the most handsome as in masculine. But if you think about in terms of some Asian men like Yuzuru Hanyu, he did grow up in an environment where Asian faces are better if they're feminine looking. Not to imply he's a wimp or anything, but I mean he DID take after his mom in looks (if you haven't looked her up then I suggest you do so.) https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2543735/amp/Robert-Pattinson-reveals-Dior-grooming-regime-quashing-THOSE-personal-hygiene-rumours.html
  17. Well, I did comment on one of Anita Yang's videos on Japanese Nationals a few weeks ago (now blocked unfortunately). Nice to hear that update, so thanks for sharing that. In other news, I have heard of the Australian wildfires going on. It certainly wouldn't hurt for Yuzuru to do a bit of charity work there. Does anyone know if there are any ambassadors there that can help him with that?
  18. Anyways, at least we know who the shogi player is that met Yuzu at the garden party.
  19. I meant to reply to THIS person. Please disregard my previous post. The name of the famous Shogi player is Yoshiharu Habu.
  20. Sorry, I replied to the wrong person. New reply coming up.
  21. His name is Yoshiharu Habu, just in case you want to know. Btw, had been experiencing some technical issues with the forum too. I sincerely hope the admins have now stabilized and secured the site's current status.
  22. Quick update: Recently bought tickets for all six days and the total came to about $1871.25 (not including transportation and other expenses-whew!). Probably going to call my workplace and have them schedule me in for Friday's work though. I'm lucky enough to even be working AND have a line of credit at 7 % interest rate, so working all of it off shouldn't take more than a few months. I would have thought my father would have had a heart attack if he found out I originally planned for an airbnb in Montreal had I not asked him to begin with.
  23. Hi everyone, Hope you are doing well. I want to announce that I have finally decided to go the World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal. This was a hard decision to make considering it was time off from work and being unsure if my stepmother and father would let me stay with them. I recently got clearance from them both, so I will be sure to book tickets really soon. As for paying it off, I would charge it on my credit card and use my line of credit. After which I would use my paycheck biweekly to pay off the line of credit. If you wish to meet with me in person, please message me as this time my friend who met at ACI 2019 isn't going. That is all. Thanks! Cynthia
  24. (Thought I should say this, so here we go!) Wishing Yuzuru Hanyu and Fanyus many more surprises in the new year and decade to come! Happy New Year! 新年快樂同恭喜發財!
  25. Hi everyone! Wishing all of you loyal and faithful Fanyus a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! (on a side note, I know Yuzuru wasn't listed with the torch bearers in Tokyo Olympics, but I am kind of hoping he will get to meet hafu athletes Naomi Osaka and Rui Hachimura-following the latter. Both have been hitting the news a lot lately).
