Oh, so it's the normal thing then. I was asking because my twitter blew up when they announced that she'll be competing at Worlds. Apparently, a lot of people I follow don't like her skating, I guess? I thought it was similar to what happened in the US where they chose lower ranking skaters because of racism and politics. Glad that was cleared up.

Imho it's really okay to backload jumps kapag SP kasi maikli lang ung time frame, transitions and artistry won't suffer if you put all three jumps plus 1 spin sa last 1.5 minutes. Si Satoko, alam kong nagbackload sa Memoirs of a Geisha SP nya eh, nagsuffer lang PCS nya kasi for some reason laging underscored ang Japanese. Si Zhenya rin, backloaded rin ung Nocturne SP nya, matino naman ang itsura. (Alina's SP is also backloaded, pero kinukwestyon ko ang WR, kasi ano yung mga sipa na yon? Maganda sya sa ballet, hindi sa yelo. .-.) Kung free skate, jusmiyo, please no, wag mo ilagay lahat ng talon within 2 minutes. See the spreadability? 3 jumps in 1.5 minutes is 1 jump per 30 seconds. 7 jumps plus 3 spins in 2 minutes, yung siguro 10 seconds to accelerate eh di naman sya Yuzu na kung san na lang nanggaling ang speed. Hindi sya fair basis. 2) Nah, I think iba ang transition component sa skating skills. (Baka mali naalala ko, Imma check the handbook later.) But the point stands: you're scoring what the person can do on skates, if you have to score shit sa arm choreography, dapat nasa interpretation component sya, hindi transitions. And the worse thing about this is matagal na syang ginagawa apparently ng mga judges, napansin lang ngayon kasi Junior Worlds ngayon. Apparently, a skater had high points for transition eh nagpose lang sya don at nagmukhang dancing groot (yung nga tela na tao na may e-fan sa ilalim kaya "sumasayaw").
