After 2 years I finally found a video where Zhenya says Yuzu is her idol (5:10)

This came out in 2011, but I haven’t seen it before till now so I thought it might be worth sharing: he was only 17, but his words carry so much weight. I wonder if he was specially allowed to talk about it with all his senpais watching.

Yuzu always seemed to have issues with his flip edge, so trying a quad version of it might just magnify the problem. I don’t think the quads have a difficulty based on the jump type tbh. Many people learned the Quad sal before the toe. Same for other like Nathan and Boyang who learned the lutz before the loop, and Shoma who can do the flip, loop and toe but not the sal. I’m sure he can do a flip, but it’s his least favorite jump so why would he?

Along with the Sports Scoop tonight at 7, Yuzu will be mentioned in the “Idenshi(?)” program that talks about people’s inspirations at 8 (he was mentions 4 times previously for idolizing Shizuka, Plushenko and Nomura Mansai, as well as being idolized by swimmer Hagino)

Well not only the health part, but he was 19. He still had yet to reach his prime. But now he is at the age where skaters (especially women) retire especially when they reach the pinnacle of their careers. So there is a sense of uncertainty. But luckily Yuzu has stated he has no intention of retiring it just depends on his ankle. So hopefully the skating gods decide the best for him

I remember awhil back, Yuzu used to be shipped with Princess Kako because she used to be a skater

I doubt he would let anyone tailor (cut or sew) his medal.

We may be crazy fans, but I'm sure most of his fan base will be really happy for him when he finds a partner. Especially if they are a skater

According to Megan Duhamel, the practice rink is still open for skaters who want to continue practicing, especially for worlds coming up. They can’t really afford a week vacation if they have/want to stay in Korea.

It’s so weird to hear Yuzu and now Brian himself say “his flip isn’t that good”. I know he used to have edge issues but it has been so consistent and one of his most beautiful, comes out of nowhere jumps! I can’t remember the last time he fell or popped it since Sochi

Robbed the gold medal from who? If he got second to Shoma, it’s is still a Japanese on top! And Javi wasn’t close...neither was Nathan for that matter. I’m sorry but those people who hated on sotnikova need to find better excuses.
