Oh don’t listen to me, I don’t know what I’m talking about! I’ve never participated in any of these lotteries before, just thought to try this time because I thought I’d at least have a little bit of a chance because the venue is so big. Maybe I should still order that sim card then in case there will be more lottery rounds!

Hi, do you know for sure if I can just use someone else's sim card? I could have a sim card shipped to my friend in Tokyo but then the sim card would be registered to his name, not mine. Not in the Lawson app, but just the sim card itself. Would they have a way of verifying that it's someone else's sim card?

I was thinking of ordering a sim card from mobal.com and sending it to my friend directly in Japan, but it looks like it's not possible. In order to ship to a Japanese address, they'll need your identity card which shows your address! So I will have to ship the sim card to the UK, and THEN send it to my friend in Japan. By then the lottery registration period will sadly be over. Maybe he can just order the sim card for me... I'm not entirely sure though if Lawson has a way of verifying that the sim card is not mine. Wow this is becoming more and more unrealistic. I don't want to spend a fortune flying all the way to Japan only to be denied entry if for some reason they cared that the sim card wasn't mine.

Thanks so much for this info! I wonder if this is the way to go... Order a sim card online and ship it to the proxy service. Or they can buy one for you? Then they can activate the sim and register a Lawson account on your behalf, and then ship the sim card to your hotel in Japan. When you get the sim card, I am hoping that using your own phone, you would still be able to login to the app. I think apps are not really tied to a phone, just to an email or mobile number.

Hi! So sorry I'm new to this so I have a number of questions! 1. My friend in Tokyo will help me buy the tickets. I had a look at the Lawson site and upon registration they're asking for a name and date of birth. Should that be my name and date of birth since it will be my name on the ticket? 2. Do you know if there will be a problem because it's my friend's mobile number and address that I'm using? Just thinking ahead, what if he wants to join another ticket lottery in the future and he can't use his mobile number because it's assigned to my name... 3. How did you get a Japanese mobile number and address? Did you use some kind of online service for a virtual number and address? Since you said you used an overseas credit card, I'm assuming you're not in Japan. If I can manage to not involve my friend, that's probably better! Thank you so much!
