Me too! And if I recall correctly, Yuzu had a deep conversation with Nomura Mansai, the actor who played Abe no Seimei in "Onmyoji". That conversation offered new insights into Yuzu's SEIMEI. He even invited Nomura Mansai to watch him practice and give suggestions afterwards. SEIMEI is life. It thrills me every time. 😢 (The interview...Sorry if this video has been posted before...) (Oh and perhaps this one, the making of SEIMEI...)

The audience is so important for a performer. While reviewing Yuzu's competitions before the COVID pandemic, I could feel that he was drawing energy up from the crowd throughout his skating. With Beijing 2022 the vibe is just different. 4A in a harness! So now the key is the height or the axis? I believe he can land a perfect Yuzu4A in the future! I hope he'll be the first one to do so in international competitions. (I don't think other skaters are willing to take the risk, haha.)

Yuzu is an outlier. He transcends this sport. Even if he doesn’t skate, he shines elsewhere. People love him for a reason. How hard is it for JSF to know if they can take a minute to hear what people say? Oh they’re just too aloof to do that — very very narrow-minded. They’ll never learn to think big like the cosmic Yuzu. Yuzu is trying to save this pathetic sport while they’re ruining it to the core. BTW, even if Yuma won 3 consecutive Olympic golds, he wouldn’t receive 1/1000 the popularity that Yuzu enjoys in China. Sad but true.

Thank you for sharing this! It’s very helpful! My grandparents speak Chinese and I see why they’re comparing Yuzu to jade, the epitome of a refined gentleman in traditional Chinese culture. It’s said that his name (Japanese: 羽生結弦) looks almost the same in Chinese “羽生结弦”. “羽”=feathers, associated with lightness, elegance, and ethereal beauty, which is exactly what he delivers on ice. “弦”=bowstring, connoting the strong will and integrity of a soldier, which is perfectly embodied by Yuzu’s performance in Beijing (especially his attempt to land 4A). Yuzu’s look, talent, personality, and manners have indeed made him the Junzi in Chinese people’s heart.

Having traveled around twitter and other social media, I'm now back to this lovely planet which makes me feel homely and safe. I want to stay here as long as it exists. I don't know how many of you are still here in 3 or 4 years (or 10 years? hahaha), but I really look forward to the day when we could cheer for Yuzu and shower the rink with pooh rains again. (Mr. Pandemic, it's time to leave this galaxy and never return.) Yuzu is a real gem, a blessing for not only figure skating but everyone who has watched his performance. A genius skater with a strong will and a tender heart. I'm so at peace with everything now, ISU, JSF, the scoring system, 4A, injuries, some two-faced media, hypocrites, or whatever, because I know it takes a long time of struggle and suffering to make a difference. Yuzu has been fighting so many forces at once, unprecedented and unbelievable. I don't worry about his retirement. Que sera, sera. He shines whether he's competing or not. I just wish him safety and full recovery. He's already done a lot. I hope that from now on, he skates only for himself. Plus, there are so many things in life to enjoy besides skating! P.S., I just got a kitten and I named her Miss Quad Axel. She's cheerful and very proud. (Oh I'm not a native English speaker so perhaps some sentences read kind of weird hahaha. Wish everyone health and good luck, yay!!!)

Wow they're so eager to show him the door.

I just saw this tweet. I don't speak Spanish so I'm confused right now.

YES Xinyu, we can always count on you.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!❤️ I've also read Yuzu's graduation thesis where he implies drawbacks of the current scoring system and attempts to use motion capture technology to enhance accuracy and justice. I think it's the trend for figure skating in the future. Yuzu's the one who really loves this sport and endeavors to make it better, although he'll definitely get resistance from the current system where ISU/JSF/... are profiting from. Yuzu the beacon of light - I hope there are more people like him.

I just saw a clip of 17-year old Yuzuru (alone) helping fix the ice after a competition. Smart and sensitive for his age. Manners maketh man.
-
Somehow Yuzu who didn't "skate clean" delivered the cleanest performance in figure skating this time, while some people who did skate "technically clean" according to corrupted scoring...

It’s very brave of him to openly talk about “failures” (not his fault!) and uncertainty and confusion. He still holds ambition and his own standard of happiness. That’s so cool. We can find our own standards, too, at different paces and in different “worlds.” His existence is so wholesome that it has saved my Valentine’s Day. Thank you, Yuzu. I see true nobility in you.

He’s so eloquent yet genuine and humble. I hope people are patient enough to read his interviews, instead of using him or making up weird headlines for clicks and clout.

Happy Valentine's Day! Yuzu and everyone!!!

Geez I just finished that article! Both the interviewer and the coach are arrogant in some way. They agree that Yuzu's decisons (like 4A attempt, training and competing without a coach) are global strategic MISTAKES. The coach clearly aims ONLY for medals that's why he thinks of Yuzu's decisions as SILLY and RISKY. He even says that Jason was more rational for skating elementary but SAFE programs. All in all, he and Yuzu hold different values regarding skating and competition, I think. Interviewer: I’m really sorry that there was no duel between Yuzuru and Nathan. Rafael Arutyunyan: Of course, it’s a pity. Only between these two skaters a real duel could have taken place. Between the cosmic Hanyu and the very prudent, pragmatic and well-prepared Chen. emm...

Google translation: There are many people who have an image of "smart behavior, strong and unbaunted" from a beautiful appearance if you do not usually watch competitions, so there was a comparatively "Hanyu Yuzuru-ne" reaction, but when I saw Hanyu-san at the Beijing Olympics, there may be many people who have noticed the essence of him who has actually come this far with a clumsy muddy struggle. — As a new fan (2021-), I feel truly blessed to know him better through Beijing Olympics.

Wow I didn’t know Boubou is a fan of Yuzu! I got to know him through Street Dance of China. I really want to know how he views Yuzu’s skating from a dancer’s point of view, I mean like transitions and interpretation of music… Yuzu, perhaps you are also using instagram (you must be🤩) and I hope you can see how many people love, appreciate, and support you!

Hey lovely, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I also cried after Yuzu’s free skating and couldn’t sleep that night, rewatching videos and checking twitter for comfort and peace. I’m also a sensitive and introspective person in real life, kinda shy. I think there’s nothing for us to feel ashamed of. From your words I can truly feel you’re someone of strong empathy and a soft tender heart, which is precious, and we could see that on Yuzuru as well. What I would suggest is that you focus on real life struggles that you’re facing (if any) and be cautious about the media and social network websites, most of which only aggravate your anxiety. Have enough sleep and go outdoors. I hope you could feel easier afterwards. I know these days are tough for fans but if it affects you too much then why not take a rest~ Yuzu has our trust and he’ll do what he wants. Let’s pray he get well soon🙏.

It’s normal for Yuzuru to feel sad after all this (should I say “hell”?). The current situation is difficult for him to cope with. Is he recovering well mentally and physically? How terrible are those injuries? What’s his attitude towards 4A and competitions now? (If he continues attempting 4A after this Olys, I don’t know if he will be underscored more severely.) Plans for the near future? Retirement when? I guess questions as such are to be asked at the press conference tomorrow, in a ruthless way. Decisions are hard to make and I feel so sorry and powerless that I can’t help him. I hope they can leave him alone. I trust him and support him no matter what the future holds. I know there’s no “if—“ in sports but I do hate that ice hole in SP, without which Yuzu might have made it to the podium. I’m not saying medals are important; I only worship the spirit and 100% endorse every decision Yuzu made. It’s just that without that incident, things would be a little bit easier for Yuzu when he returns to Japan. Oh, Quad Axel, what are we going to do with you!!!
-
I Hope he's got ample time to rest well, fully recover, and even (I know it's very unlikely to happen) try things besides skating (like traveling?). I will always support him whether he retires or not. Yuzu, you've promised us ice shows -- Pooh rains are ready!!! Dear Yuzu, please get well soon!
