  1. I don't know, based on his response it seems to me like he and Yuzuru aren't really in contact with each other.
  2. What would that even mean? Surely points cannot be deducted from his score at this point?
  3. Thank you, this was a really informative interview. Somehow this part made me really happy: "That’s why I was happy. I realised that I really like having others watch me while I skate. It’s my origin, but I went back to it and thought about it again." I'm so glad that he's regained his love for skating
  4. I obviously prefer Yuzuru's skating over Yuma's and Shouma's as well (hence I'm posting here(: ), but to me it seems a little unkind to comment (negatively) on an athlete's appearance, although of course people have their own preferences.
  5. You are right; it didn't even cross my mind to think how it might affect his standing in Japan. He was also mainly spotted publicly in the company of Chinese figure skaters so not sure what the Japanese media will make of that, hopefully nothing. His Japanese fans don't seem to be offended at least. Also, nice to meet you(:
  6. Some negativity ahead, so I'll put in a spoiler:
  7. I have pretty conflicted feelings about this, but if he's happy with it and has found his motivation elsewhere, then I am happy as well. Also, I love how he just casually mentions being able to do 4.5 revolutions on most of his other jumps
  8. What is he referring to with the "I don't really care at this moment" part?
  9. Personally I'm happy to see him compete for as long as he wants to, I hope he won't care too much about the scores and the rest from now on
  10. My countryman Valtter Virtanen is 34, still improving and even learning new (quad) jumps!
  11. I thought that's just their personality? Well, I don't know Yuma that well but Shouma at least doesn't seem very affectionate to me Edit: after watching the clip, I see what you guys mean
  12. This reminds me of one of Yuzu's fanboys today who did the same when he wanted to take a photo with him;D
  13. I accidentally voted "yes" since I thought the other option would be "no", oops
  14. Well, that is Yuzuru I guess But I'm so happy to see him enjoying skating again
  15. So the final form of 4A is yet to come?? Overall, I had a really good feeling about the press conference, he seems to be in a much better place now. I'm not sure if he mentioned anything about the Worlds, my Japanese is rubbish these days... But since he said he really shouldn't have skated today (yikes), I think the recovery will take some time.
  16. Yuzuru said something about something being painful? during the practice, but I'm not sure if he was talking about his ankle. However, if I understood correctly, he seemed to have a positive outlook overall after the two programs, even if there were some falls
  17. 22,000 are waiting to see Yuzuru's press conference
  18. I guess he is doing it then, not sure how to feel about it. Yuzuru was smiling (faintly) in one of the photographs though which makes me hopeful
  19. I feel physically sick...He is nasty towards Jason as well
  20. Personally, I'm not sad because Yuzuru didn't podium or land a ratified 4A. I thought his FS was so inspiring even with the two falls, and I was amazed by how much progress he had made with the 4A. The popped salchow in the SP was incredibly unfortunate, and while his skate wasn't *bad* by any means, it wasn't as brilliant (IMO) as the one he delivered at the Nationals, probably due to the shock caused by that freaking hole in the ice. Rather, I am sad because Yuzuru is sad - he is so demanding of himself, and I can only imagine how disappointed he must be now, since his personal goals were to 1. land a ratified 4A and b. win a 3rd OGM. He was in top condition before the ice hole accident, so that must have been crushing for him. Not to mention yet another ankle injury...I hope it's not too serious, but I suppose we'll find out (I hope) tomorrow
